Right, he'll be 27 in October. He is no longer on an upward trajectory in terms of quality or value. As a player, he is what he is right now and his value will start declining.
As he's proven he is not exactly an impact player at the next level, clubs above us wouldn't be coming in for him.
I do understand that the fee isn't £10m, but given those wages there will little chance of recouping a fee for him in the future. So, essentially, Wrexham are paying £10m for 3 years of LOB. And, if they get promoted, he's likely to be on the bench. They have the money for these kinds of luxuries, we do not.
I'm perfectly fine with Galbraith and Widell. At least they have a chance at a providing a payday for us down the road.
