So assuming we get:
Kone
cb (permanent)
Cb/lb (loan)

What else we need?

We've got to be looking at top 6 minimum then surely?

This post is this thread in a nutshell.

IF we sign these three players, no time to reflect, it's straight on to what other signings do we need. Also those three prospective signings (none of whom have signed and 2 of them we don't even have potential names) means we're nailed on for a playoff spot at least.

Then we lose the first game and its oh my god, we're going to be relegated

I'd say ( after KONE)
DM
CB who can also cover FB
Maybe enough as we also have the U21's
If we assume Kone is signing, and signing for a fair chunk of change, I would worry we'd be spreading our finances thin to bring another three players in - rumours of us looking at two defenders. Even with one of them being a loan, we'd have to be very frugal on the other two. I'd like a midfielder on a permanent, happy for the cover defender to be a loan though

I get the worry but we’ve been used to being quite frugal under the previous owners. I think we’ve been conditioned into thinking that there is no money to spend but if you structure deals cleverly you can do a lot.

Lack of effort from the previous lot more than anything is my opinion.

A lot of Premier League teams still on their pre season tours so any loans will be later when they assess who they want to let go on loan.

Plus, has anyone actually looked at that last set of accounts, I wonder? From my quick glance, without big player sales income, we would be slaloming into some deep shit. We need Yates and Vipotnik out the door, and we surely can’t afford first team quality ‘back up’. Have I misread them?

Ian Wright played for Sunday league side Ten-em-Bee on Hackney Marshes until he was 21, what price would you tag him with in today's market?

Was Teddy Sherringham and our old friend Les Ferdinand plucked from non league as well? Kone has proven himself at League One level anyway.
