The Summer Transfer Window Thread

I’m all for not writing him off but 7M is insane amount.
If there is any truth to this, and the figure being bandied about is 7 mill, it's probably 3-4 million of actual money spread out over a while, with 3-4 million of 'add ons' like us winning the Champions League in the next 3 years tacked on so Celtic can say it's a 7 million deal so they can save some face after spending 9 million on him not so long ago.

Make Vip the number 1. He can hold up the ball - good with his head and can strike the ball. Needs to get the striker’s instinct. Anticipation. Getting in the right place. On the front foot. Does that come with a run of games and a bit of backing from the manager? Who knows? Worth a try though I reckon.
The boy has just turned 23, look at some of the goals he’s scored.
My gut is telling me we’ll be well rewarded if we show patience with him and play to his strengths.

Looks to Idah then.

Let's get behind him. He is young, has experience of this league and played champions league football. Part of me is still hoping that we keep VIP.

If we can follow it up with a Left sided defender and Winger, we are in good shape as a squad.

Imagine Idah will be 4 to 5 year deal. Spread the costs. Indy reporting we have been looking at him since January. So the question remains, is VP moving so that Idah is in? I think this will happen. I don't want it to be. And makes little sense. But it's a statement from the Club that they have 0 faith in VP, if true. Also Cooper sounds like he definitely will be going if he wants more match time in order to get in the Wales Squad.

I would think the club would like to keep the 2 players, but Idah is not a swansea player yet if even we are in for him

If Vipotnik moves then we will need a replacement for him. Going to be an interesting end to the window.

This is where I was saying earlier with the pressure on Celtic's board, as despite him not being rated at all at the minute by Celtic fans, had they say sold him for £2 million it would have looked embarassing to lose that amount of money on a player in one year.

Even if they value him at £3-4.5 million, I think that Celtic's PR team will either try and push a higher figure, or structure a deal with add-ons and push the total fee including add-ons to save face.

If it's £4 million with add-ons to £7 million, that's a fine deal for us if the add-ons are based on him scoring enough goals to be worth more than that figure, or if we were to get promoted etc. Then it becomes a win-win scenario where Celtic can recoup some money to reinvest, save face with their fans and we can get the striker in of a better quality of what we've got.

Again be hell of a gamble wouldn't it. VP is moved out and another comes in. I don't see the club
To be fair, board has got the players in and have been pro active. I now have no doubt they will follow up with a left sided defender and winger after a new striker.

These new owners have delivered and kept their side of things.
Fair Point. I just hope it doesn't turn into a circus with VP and the striker situation. The club has done well, I just fear the worse. I always do 🤣

last season 30apps, 8 goals 1 assist in the league. 16 of which were starts.
1414 mins in total. a contribution every 156 mins.
In a team that batters teams week in week out, its not great. Especially as most the teams in that league are probably league 1 standard.
Edit to add: 2401 mins in all comps, 20 goals 1A. which brings it down to 114 mins per contribution, some of which was champions league football
