Stamenic needs to be more positive. I saw some stats that said he was one of the worst midfielders in the league so far for passing forward. Not sure if he plays this role for his country or if it is not his strength.
Depends what his coach has instructed him to do.
From the start we seemed happy to stroke the ball sideways and backwards rather than look at forward options....
Second half we started to drive forwards as if the shackles had been taken off.
Much was made of our comeback to beat Forest when like tonight we were chasing the game at home.
Its down to game plan for me ....look to ...in Sheehans words dominate control the game by keeping the ball away from the opposition..then hope for an opening
It seems when we are behind we look to go for it.....as someone else has said why not look to be more offensive from the off.
People blame O Dea but Sheehan is the head charang.....
Its damaging changing managers so often and the question needs to be asked why we keep getting it wrong.
I like Sheehan as a person he has a humility unlike some of his predecessors but felt he was the wrong choice....I was totally perplexed by his use of the preseason and aome of his decisions since the seasons start made me question his appointment more.
Why is it Middlesborough who have brought in 11 new players and a new manager have mangaged to hit the ground running...
Whilst we are struggling to break into a trot with a head coach who is in his 3rd seasion at the club with 2 spells as caretaker has worked with the majority of our current squad and had a full preaseason with the majority of the newbies.
We are now slipping down the table...Saturday is a big game now but I feel the time is rapidly becoming up for Sheehan.
Sacking him isnt great for the club and I cant think of a suitable replacement....but from what looked like a promising season (not neccesarily..playoffs or automatic promotion) but some attacking attractive competive football but what have we seen...we are almost a quarter of the way into the season.
I hope our owners and senior management have a cunning plan

Does Sheehan need some extra support on his coaching staff?
This is the answer to it for me.

During last seasons run in and the summer Sheehan pushed for and was given his choice of backroom staff - he went for exclusively ex-pro defenders.

Correct me if I’m wrong but there is nobody on the staff that has any attacking instincts?

He has surrounded himself with competent, solid pros but there doesn’t seem to be any flair or creative thinking there.

I feel this has filtered down into the playing style and unless we bring in an attacking coach asap I can’t see Sheehan being able to switch out of this malaise.

All the one's arguing tonight were not in the stadium tonight, says it all, part time supporters, I was watching the Swans against West End down landore circa 1997 in front of 300 fans.. and we lost 2-1, now that was sh*te.. and i bet the f*ckers arguing were nowhere to be seen
Well done on still living in Swansea and being able to attend home games. I was there at Southampton, I'll be there at Charlton, and I expect to be there at as many away games as possible this season and at least a few home games too. Does that make me an armchair or part-time supporter?

He definitely went down like a tool but you can’t be going putting your head in like that. Especially right in front of the linesman.

Yea agreed, but do we have VAR in the Championship or dont we? The linesman did not flag so either he was presumably happy for play to continue or he hadn't seen it. The ref was facing the other direction and chasing the QPR counter in the other half of the field so he didn't see it either. When the ref did eventually come back down to where the incident occurred, they were holding their ear pieces in trying to listen to something. So we can only assume that someone else stationed on the opposite side of the pitch (4th official?) had told them it was a red card offence. Either we should have full VAR or no VAR, not this pathetic hybrid version where the on field officials decide when it suits them to listen to someone off the field.
