Kim Hellberg - New Manager?

Just to be clear - we have scored 15 goals this season, and even that number surpasses our XG of 12.5. The number of times we touch the ball in the opposition area is also a league low. Sheehan was riding on a hot Vipotnik streak - otherwise we would be down in the relegation zone.
Looking at the next appointment - we desperately need someone who can set us up to create chances and score goals.
Honestly I look at Galbraith Franco Yalcouye Stamenic Cullen Ronald Innoussa Eom Idah and Vipotnik - and while they all have some areas for improvement - this is the most potent set of midfielders wingers and strikers I have seen post relegation.
In short we were MASSIVELY underperforming - and I can see a very quick improvement being entirely possible.
I am excited for Hellberg for all the reasons stated above.
Time to ditch caution and seize this division by the throat.
You missed out Melker Widell and Bobby Wales in your list

Let’s face it, the owners wanted Hellberg the last time around. They had to give it to Sheehan for the way he subsequently turned things around.
Unless Mrs Hellberg has other ideas he’s going to be the manager.
But more importantly, the coach who finally lifts the sideways, backwards curse we’ve been under for gawd knows how long.
So raise a glass of Brännvin and say “Välkommen Kim YJB ! “

Well no unless you have zero integrity.

I can only speak for myself but I was ridiculed for my opinion at the time so I can’t just let it slide.

Yet on another thread this week you derided fans for saying it's unlikely the next manager will do much better as the players possibly aren't as good as some think they are? We were getting the pitchforks out already apparently, but it's fine when you write a manager off as soon as he's appointed and after a brilliant run as temporary manager?

When Sheehan was first put forward for the job on a full time basis I was against it. Overtime he earn't the right and respect to get the job full time.

Unfortunately for him and us it didn't work out. It takes a special kind of someone to pop up and say "well I told you so".

Hindsight is a wonderful thing along with selective a memory.

We took a huge gamble on Sheehan and it failed miserably, Hellberg might have been a gamble first time around i doubt very much that the club are prepared to gamble again, completely different circumstances now.

If we aren’t prepared to gamble on him again why is he in London with Gorringe to discuss? (according to media)

Mrs Hellberg you say? You know the rules, photograph required. Which one of those ABBA ladies does she resemble?

It could be Mr & Mr Hellberg? It's 2025 after all 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

The puzzling thing with Sheehan is he had us playing some decent stuff during his second sting as care taker.

I guess we'll never really know where it went wrong for him.
.
Sheeezy was lucky - he mostly benefited from the old-manager-out bounce.

Been told that the level of joy and ebullience was off the scale when they finally got the Willy out.

Players were free to express themselves, unshackled from the MArtinsWilly era of the twpest ever football. The bounce was massive.

This term, without that massive bounce factor, Sheeezy was shown up for the limited simple #2 he is.

Expecting another crap-old-manager-out bounce......the players joyous and unshackled......

.

Anyone is going to be a gamble, surely?

To me, Hellberg seems to be one of the better names mentioned so far.

Sorry when did I say this ?

The closest I’ve got to what you’ve said is deriding people for supporting him then withdrawing support so quickly which is what I warned about before the appt

I think every potential candidate is a huge risk

Someone like Wagner would have been a bigger risk than Hellberg. He did well at Huddersfield for 18 months and was sacked. Also failed in his other roles in Germany & Switzerland.

From an outsider point of view - he looked like he did well at Norwich but if you dive into it - Norwich fans thought he was useless and should have performed better with the players they had.

He is someone who to me looks like he is on a downward spiral in his career.

Mentality & confidence is just as important in a Manager as it is in a player. Someone like Hellberg is on the rise - he will have a confident mentality and determination that someone like Wagner, Corberon, Mowbray etc won’t have and the hope is his fresh and forward thinking ideas will push us on

Someone on Facebook last night said we should be getting Ian Holloway in because he knows the championship 😂
I know the championship (been following it closely for years) and before that was closely following the Premier League

Linked to another player from Sweden. He seems to create and score lots and had a good season. I would be a little worried that we are over indexing on people from Sweden before any of them have been a success yet and he looks like he plays the same position as Melker but much more attacking. Maybe we know a secret and Swedish football is better than we think but their clubs are also struggling in Europe.
