What are our realistic ambitions ?

After the start we have had, and another manager change, my realistic expectations for this season is for Matos to get the squad comfortable in playing the way he wants them to, to be more clinical and to start killing off rubbish teams in games when we're on top.
That should lead us to a respectable mid table finish and another summer of squad overhaul because we are bang average in several positions across the team.
Matos though, in all fairness to him, has been a breath of fresh air so far and I'm enjoying games again.
I agree with all this. But it's the groundhog day "summer overhaul" I'm not looking forward to. Every year seems to be the same. New names. Hope. Quality doesn't materialize. Rinse and repeat.

But with Vitor I have a bit more hope though 🤞

Trouble with getting promotion to the cess pit of the Premier League, is that our owners may well try and flip us straight away, which would put us back in the market for a load of sharks. Again.

But I’m all in for it anyway.

It's starting to seem as though we're going in the right direction again... Ambitions for the club are, once again, a realistic, reasonable emotion to have as a swans fan!

We just need to nail our away games consistency...

The TRUE 'Swansea Way' is getting there through hard work, dedication and punching well above our weight class. Clubs like Man City and Chelsea who blatantly manipulate and cheat the systems have irrevocably lost their souls and identity.

The PL is indeed a cesspool... A very, very rich one, though that we can't afford to ignore.

For the last 2 seasons, I have questioned renewing my season ticket. Each time I did renew it but only out of loyalty to a club I have supported all my life. It certainly wasn't from enjoyment.
This season and certainly the latter part of last season, I feel something good is coming. Not promotion. Not yet anyway.
Just pride and excitement.
i look forward to each game. Win lose or draw. (Preferably win).

One man, Vitor, has definitely changed the culture of the team, and for the better...like you say I'm really enjoying the football now...we actually move it forward with pace. Less time for the opposition to marshall their defence. Remember the bad days, their defence could have a chat and a breather (even time for a drink if allowed) when we'd pass ourselves to death before the last third. Oh, I forgot - then we'd go back 🤔

Ironically in the Blackburn game, when we reverted once to the slow dangerous pass out stuff from the goalie across the defence, we conceded a goal !

Long may Matos' "revolution" continue. Or maybe "evolution" is best now, smaller steps and all that.

Would it ironically be a bad thing if we have a very strong second half of the season and finish just outside the playoffs (not that I see that happening)?

Matos' links with Klopp means he'll be well known around the league and a really strong finish to the season could make him an attractive option to a team relegated from the PL for example.
