• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Great to beat them away from home. Amazing how they’ve deteriorated since we played them at home. They were absolutely awful.

A great performance from Parker again. And brilliant from Eom and Vipotnik. And Vigs made a couple of crucial saves.

Very scrappy other than that.

I’m still uncertain what we are aiming for other than running around a lot and pressing the opponents. We’ll find out more next year I guess.

I think we need a few players in order to turn us into anything other than mid table. That will mean we have to sell. So it will be another summer of overhaul.

We have to find some creativity from somewhere though. At the moment, our most creative player is Eom. Who probably should be in the middle.
No way do we need an overhaul, we’ve got a lot of young players in their first season of championship football. We’re already getting the points to be close to top 6 since Matos. A bit of strengthening in a few positions is all we need and can probably afford.

My interpretation is that Matos is just doing what he can with the tools he has. I don’t know if we have enough in the defence and midfield to play triangles and control games at the moment. That’s what I hope anyway. Like Sheehan, he deserves a window to try and build something. I really hope it goes well for us under him, such a likeable guy and has dragged us out of trouble this season.

If we sell our best players we will.

Which is what I said.

Remove Vipotnik’s goals this season and we are down, not top 6. It will take a lot of change to replace them.

It's the last thing we need. A few quality additions in the summer to add competition for places is what is needed.

I also don't buy in to the notion that we have to sell to invest either.

Yes I agree - I hope the same.

Read the accounts. Summary that is. No one can read the full accounts as they are overdue at companies house. Still haven’t been filed. Which is shocking btw.

Unfortunately, we’ll definitely have to sell at least one player for a decent fee if we want to bring in 2/3 starters.

Well, alternatively we could go in with a much smaller squad than this season and rely on youngsters on low wages for positions 19-25 in the 1st team squad but we’ve shown no desire to do that as a club since the 1st year we were relegated and it would require clubs to take a fair few under contract players off our hands.

We may have to sell both Vipotnik and Galbraith unless there is a significant improvement in commercial income.

The smaller squad bit would be a perfectly reasonable approach. Giving contracts to Fulton and twenty five coaches doesn’t suggest that will happen…

We don't know that for a fact. Absolutley none of us on here actually know how deep our owners pockets are.

Pompey’s game in hand is Ipswich.

It’s incredible that yet again we beat a team that was below us. Still only Watford and Wrexham from those above. I guess the smart money is we lose to Delias, QPHa and Soton and beat Charlton, but I fancy us to win two and draw one of those.
We beat Bristol City too

We should be selling Vipotnik this summer to capitalise on the profit we can make in my opinion. What we shouldn’t do is sell Vipotnik and Galbraith, the sale of one should enable us to keep the other while allowing us to bring in quality for other areas. It’s how Coventry have done what they’ve done.

The only worry is our current track record for recruiting forwards (wingers especially) is quite inconsistent and with us being so reliant on one player for goals, if we mess it up it could have serious consequences.
