Right let’s keep this thread for our thanks to Phil and memories of the site and not pay any attention to what other forums may or may not be doing. What happens elsewhere is up to others.

I was a lurker on here long before I was a poster
Odd as it might sound its a bit of a mental health anchor considering I don't go out much
This place will be greatly missed while I find a new home

You have been an outstanding poster on the football board, I will always take time to read your contributions.

I’ve been the same, only took the plunge to join this year after lurking for years. Very sad day. Thank you for everything Phil

I am totally gutted and in shock. Many thanks Phil for all your sterling efforts in running this site alongside all your other commitments for 25 years, you have been fantastic.

And I want to echo all the others who have said this site CANNOT die, it's too important. If Phil will allow and facilitate it, someone needs to take it on.

Absolute lightweight.

Honestly.

In all seriousness, thanks Phil for everything you’ve done on this site and in your commitment to ‘active’ support. You’ve done as much if not more than any other supporter in not only keeping this site going, but keeping the club going. Younger supporters will have no idea how close it got to having no club to support, and people like you, Rich and many others stepped forward when it counted.

My user name reminds me of joining this site pretty much at the beginning, which initially ran alongside Gary’s scfc guestbook and the joys of swanmail and huddling around listening to our games on paltalk with some who are still here and others like Jannick, Warwick and Nick from Moscow. Over the years I’ve met a few, talked to many, become ‘online friends’ with some, got to know others through the Trust and annoyed more people than I can shake a stick at.

We’ve lost so many fine contributors over those 25 years, some of whom are immortalised in the names of these boards, and it feels like the end of an era.

When we started posting here we were a small lower league club in an ‘ugly, lovely’ stadium and none of us could imagine the ride we’ve been on since. It’s perhaps fitting that this chapter closes with us an established top two tier club with a stadium that no longer smells of a public convenience and our irritation extends only to how long it will take us to again reach the top.

Here’s to the next twenty five.

Loved reading the site over the years and contributing over the last year after giving up on the toxicity of twitter.

Thanks for everything you’ve done Phil, not just on here but also with the Trust. Your passion and selflessness has always shone through whenever I’ve heard you speak at the forums, AGMs etc. Wish you all the best for the future. STID

Smurph and Jax have been quiet on this, I got a feeling they’re sorting a management buy out for this place. In fact they’ve probably been plotting it for a number of months, which is why they were arranging the ill fated get together at that Baglan chaps place abroad.
I've struggled to find the words after reading Phil's announcement this morning. This place has been huge part my life for years as a silent observer and most recently as a contributor.

Might wait and see the fallout from the end of season party at Pego's before making a decision.

We also need to speak to our finance guy to release the funds.

Thanks for the memories Phil, it's been a blast 🖤🤍🫶🏼
