• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Paltalk was one of the best things about being a Jack before we started getting live games. If we could have had a live version it would have surpassed it but it was one of the only ways many from distance could get to listen to the games back then. Excellent times and even when we were crap the camaraderie made up for the result. Even made friends with some pompey fans :)
I got caught out a couple of times... fired up Paltalk just before the game only to find out that i had to update it on snail internet.:censored:

Everyword already spoken, the mad moments, the meltdowns, the sharing of the passion/madness and even more importantly, the community.

What am i going to do with my life from June onwards! Phil you ar***ole! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Lovely post and don’t forget this forum has enabled you to meet me many times.
Too right Darren before i joined this forum you used to blank me :) love you mate and everyone else i know personally or only online.

Paltalk.. no live coverage, just a bloke in a room listening on the radio.. it's mad how much technology has changed.. sometimes paltalk would attract 100s
That bloke was me, I used to broadcast from my flat with the mic next to the speaker, remember playing bony m and random songs half time, good days lol

Absolutely gutted. Feels like losing a family member. Crossed swords with a few on here and never took it personally, just a difference of opinion. Hope someone can take over from Phil, who has done an absolutely amazing job. I know I've given him a few headaches over the years, but he has and always will have my utmost respect for running this site with fairness and without trying to "give it the big one." Adios, amigos.

Tis a sad day.
Phil is a legend and I love him and his lovely family.
Mind you I have dropped enough hints over the last few weeks that I wouldn’t be posting here next season you dopey twats.
25 years of my life down the shitter.
Thank you Philip.
Thank you Phil.

By the way, if you click on anyone's name you'll see how many posts they've made, and Darren currently has made 19,413 of them. Any bets that he'll reach 20,000 before final closure?

Sorry to see the site going, so firstly thank you Phil for all the hard work over the years and I wish nothing but the best for future endeavours. Think I've been around since about 199 something in whatever guise the site has been, been some memorable threads , espoecially the friday night club various crazy poster. One of my favourites was adding a few posting to the T*******rs dead whilst celebrating with a lot of drinks, think that one had over a 100 pages😂😂😂 I was howling that night.
Met several posters from here and have become friends for a number of years.
Lisa has mentioned several memories and another one of the biggest was Paltalk, ok strictly not on here but we did always post that the room was open, several times we would get over a 100 people listening in and me putting the shits up people screaming wildly down the mic when we scored 😂😂 pre game and half time music, quiz questions and raiding the pompey room and all getting barred.
So all in all sorry to see it go, catch all around and about
Bloody hell… those pal talk rooms. That brings back memories. Crazy how our experience with engaging with football has changed in such a relatively small space of time.

Wow this really is sad news. A big massive Diolch to Phil and everyone else who has seen this site last so long.

Been reading these forums since I was in school going through the Petty era, then going through the league rises arguing with Boogie that Bussy was rubbish and also really enjoyed the few summers playing in the JackArmy.net football team, they were cracking days out.

Will leave a real hole for sure.

Stag Mad, OxO Man, Llanrhymneybluebird, Armchair Blue, Sarah from Stoke......Your boys took a hell of a beating!

Those were the days eh?

Thanks for everything Phil S it's been a great old ride down the years ! Now enjoy the Golf !

:)

Can only echo the opinions of others as I’ve just seen this thread after it’s hit 8 pages! Thanks a lot for your work Phil. I really do hope that someone can take it over.

Thank you Phil.

As the best poster on here, I find it's always quality over quantity. However, I'll see what I can do Glyn.
