• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

I was at the top of that insane lane that led to the away end and there were far too many fans walking down the lane to have those mounted police riding down it. We saw the horror cop who was riding the horse that killed Terry and he was a right jobsworth. He was totally at fault for the incident in my humble opinion.

Horrible, heard the stories from my brother who was at the game.

I work with his wife.

Travelled to the game on the Mags coach so came up the lane from the other direction.
Didn't know anything about it till on the way back

RIP

As we were going through the gate heard a comotion going on but thought nothing of it until later when we heard the actual truth, cops were c*nts that day

I was in the home end that day and what was (up to that point) the best Swansea game I'd been at, was forever tainted when I heard the news about Terry Coles.

I've watched many a Swansea game with the opposition fans (a 500 mile round trip to get tickets back in the day was never a option) and whilst I have the Yorkshire accent, it was very hairy for me at the end when the pitch invasions and everything were kicking off, I just wasn't able to celebrate and did my best to look miserable whilst being the happiest I had ever been at a football match.

The police were heavy handed with some of us on that day. We were walking to the ground and a copper kept belting us around the backs of the legs to stay on the curb which was difficult as there were so many of us.
Walked down that lane and I think I remember their fans throwing rocks at us and got into the ground and heard something about a swans fan and horse but only found out when I got home that he had died.
Terrible news after what felt like a great away day

RIP
Some of the police on duty that day were involved with Hillsborough.
