    Cooper to Brighton

What I can’t get my head around is that we beat them twice in the season. (Edit - ignore that. We’d not lost to them, not quite the same thing!) We seemed to have conceded defeat before we kicked off. It was a very odd atmosphere around the club. None of the excitement and expectation you’d...

Doesn’t really matter how many years, not going to happen. Clubs without parachute payments are normally funded by their owners. I could promise getting lucky with Jennifer Lawrence, it’s still not going to happen :ROFLMAO:

    Summer 2024 Transfer Rumours

The squad’s in a right state with very little quality plus very hit and miss performances under Williams (with better players than we have left). So yes, agreed. The recruitment will be key. If we have another summer like last year’s, we could be in big trouble.

    Budget

I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners think it’s what the fans want. I can see (just) the place for one senior old boy in the dressing room, but extensions for two players who are unlikely to be able to play much seems like a waste of the little money we have.

The City v United FA Cup Final Thread

There’s a stupid number of Man U fans in SE Wales. Can’t blame them though if the alternative was Cardiff.

    Poch

The one manager who’s being linked with everywhere is McKenna from Ipswich. Chelsea, Brighton and Man U so far. Not even had one season in the top flight yet.

    Budget

Healthy? £18M loss announced last year, taking the cumulative losses over the last 2 years to £30M. That gives us headroom for a £11.5M loss max last season, which we’ll be lucky to get close to with all the c0ck ups over players and managers. Any profit from player sales is likely to disappear...

    McBurnie or Langstaff

He might not have much choice. He’s not PL quality.

Walsh, Placheta and Ogbeta all released

Agreed. I think Naughton adds more than Joe based on what little we saw of them this season. The experience is worth something in the dressing room too. Not much in it though and you can make the same argument for Joey. I agree with you. To have both seems like an indulgence and frankly a...

    My ten year old Grandson

You can tell he’s a Prosser - look at that shirt. Just missing some lobsters and palm trees on it. (You must be very proud Darren. He looks like quite a talent 👍)

12 pages. Bigger than a match thread. Are you all my missus?

Walsh, Placheta and Ogbeta all released

I think when you look at his performances it makes sense too. We’re desperate for any positive signs, and he delivered a couple. But realistically we need much more if we want to be top half comfortably. Ogbeta was absolutely crap for Bolton yesterday. I’ve no idea if that was a one-off, but on...

    Lovely assist for their second.

    exiledclaseboy at Anfield today

Yep. Every fan of every other club should be forced to wear Swans shirts. We might be able to afford another loan for Rushworth then.
  15. LeonWasTheDogs

Walsh, Placheta and Ogbeta all released

Yep. Maybe we couldn't afford him. He must have been on a fair whack at Norwich before we took over the end of his contract. Or we've got a really crap recruitment team who keep finding players we get rid of 6 months later.

    The Euro 2024 Thread

Shame, but good to see the Scots there holding up the Celtic end, so to speak. They always liven up a tournament.
  17. LeonWasTheDogs

Walsh, Placheta and Ogbeta all released

Bit surprised about Placheta. I thought he'd be a half decent option alongside a returning Ginelly. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckdqgyj05lwo

    Joe Allen

Hmm. Not sure about that. He might be a Jack, but we need to try and rebuild around someone who can play regularly. (Someone like Travis at Blackburn seems available and has about 8 years more legs in him, for example).

    Naughton Signs Contract

Yep. He looked good at times, and sometimes excellent and the best player on the pitch. Age/fitness is obviously a concern, yet he won’t be playing all the time and is probably valuable to have in the dressing room.

    Langstaff

Still a big jump up, but yeah you can see why LW is interested.
