This is where our dreadful transfer dealings come home to roost. All this dross we've spent millions on, costing us tens of thousands of pounds a week with no prospect of making any money when we sell them. This is that catching up with us. Next stop League One.

Some people think this is football manager. There's a fair chance that most of the money we get from selling Grimes will just be eaten up elsewhere. We've spent money over the last 18 months but virtually all of it has been totally and utterly wasted.

It's like us selling Josh Key and surmising that the next right back won't be asked to play in centre midfield or wherever the hell him and Tymon play. We'll replace Grimes, like for like. Except the replacement will be worse.

Well... if he was going to be replaced with a dynamic and inspiring player then it wouldn't make us weaker. If, however, he's replaced by someone more dull, more uninspiring and worse at football than him, then it will make us weaker.

No - I thought he was crap too. But we've essentially replaced him (a young full back/centre back) with Christie/Naughton. Which is a downgrade imo.

They seem like they're going to be cut from the same cloth going off what little I have read about him and their respective stats.

Do you think they'll replace him with a player who performs a different function then? There'll be no shake up because they'll just replace him with a worse version.

I don't rate him and I don't think he's any sort of saviour. But we won't replace him with anyone better. Just like we haven't replaced any exiting player with anyone better for a couple of years now. Ntcham, Downes, Rushworth, Piroe, Manning, Latibeaudiere.... the list goes on.

There is absolutely zero chance that the club have decided that they want to change things up in midfield by selling their captain and someone who has played virtually every minute of the last 6 or 7 seasons in January. When we are in freefall and only 7 points above the relegation zone...

That's been a consensus for a few years now and as of yet, it hasn't happened. Not sure what's keeping us up.

On the basis this seems to now be 3 players... I'd go with Bony because he's the best striker we've ever had. Gylfi because even the best striker the world has ever seen wouldn't get a sniff in this team. Then Leon to see off Grimes.
