    The Summer Transfer Window Thread

If 7m is the amount then I’d expect more of a proven goal scorer than Idah. Our recruitment team have done well this summer and haven’t leaned towards paying over the odds. Galbraith will be one of the best pieces of business we’ll do. This one is just crazy though if it’s true.

You’d think so if we had that much to spend. I’m guessing half of it is add on based, dependant on promotion.

This is strange considering Tom Coleman said it wasn’t advanced at all. Also sceptical on the 7m fee. Can’t see if being that much. Really not a fan of that price tag.

I’m not sure he’s a 4.5m player and that’s coming from somebody who likes him. Although it is funny that Celtic fans are calling him the worst player to have played for them and some are expecting to recoup most of the fee. Which is it then?

If it’s that much for Idah then that is a massive overpay. As much as I think he suits what we need, I would never pay that when Celtic paid over the odds for him in the first place. I can’t see us shelling out that much anyway.

Idah is nothing like Vip imo, he’s a channel runner and likes to get in behind the line. We don’t have anyone that can do that effectively in the squad at the moment.

I’m not so down on the Idah deal to be honest. Initially was very good at Celtic but the pressure of being a 9 there is constant. He just won’t be under the same spotlight here. Can see him fitting in well and he’s the kind of all round striker we don’t have.

He was loved initially at Celtic, so much so that they signed him permanently. Scored 13 in his first full season there which isn’t amazing but solid for a player in their early 20s. I get his record isn’t the best but we aren’t going to pay for an already prolific striker.

I may be in the minority but I’d sign Idah. I like his all round game and he’d definitely give us something we don’t have up front. Also has experience of the championship and I think he’s capable of scoring 12-15.

Interesting. No idea if it’s true but Qarabag could be signing him according to this article - https://www.bakupost.az/qarabagda-daha-bir-ecnebi-futbolcu I think we’re all sick of the striker problem at this point. Roll on Monday 7PM.

Someone on here mentioned Soumano not too long ago didn’t they?

Alan Sheehan on Plymouth Argyle | Reaction

I agree with the attacking structure point. I think our main mode of attack under Sheehan is to just go down the wings but we don’t have the wingers to go past people constantly. We also need to be far better in transition if we are to capitalise on the ball winning midfield we have. Very much...

    Widell

Despite not scoring or assisting for us yet, he has looked the biggest direct threat to his marker out of all our wide options so far this season for me. Also was vital to our goal against SU. Once he gets a run of starts he’ll be one of the first on the team sheet.

    Widell

That’s also true, he still looked dangerous while playing on the wrong side and I thought put one or two decent crosses in. End of the day, we’ve only seen him in cameos mostly and he’s looked good in all of them. Really need to get to a point where he starts now though.

    Widell

I’d say Inoussa has looked good too, definitely needs to start for us. Didn’t understand some of the criticism of him last night. Stamenic also looks good from his two appearances and will probably start by virtue of being the only kind of midfielder of his type that we have.

Wales would have come on but we had already made four subs by the time Casey needed to be replaced. Eom and Casey injuries basically meant that we couldn’t make the subs we wanted I think.

    Widell

You can see he has quality. As others have said, he needs time and the physical aspect will improve. He’s definitely not afraid to throw himself into a challenge. Also, playing him wide in the second half didn’t help him, he’d be best playing central as a 10 in my opinion but we seem to be...

    S25/26 | Swansea 1 Plymouth 1 (The Swans win 5-3 on Penalties) | Att: 7,279 | 2nd Round EFL Carabao Cup | 7.45pm, Tuesday 26th August

I find it difficult to judge on a game like this. All the new signings looked good against Watford but relatively poor at times tonight. Doesn’t mean they’re poor players or that they’ll be playing that way every game. I thought we had control over the first half, although we weren’t anything...

Cooper was all about keeping a solid shape and counter attacking from what I remember. Sheehan is at least more proactive in that he has us pressing and trying to win the ball back. It’s why I can put up with us playing longer as we often see our players putting in the effort to win it back...
