Oh it's the players that are the problem. Cheers for clearing that up Russell.

I suspect it's got a lot to do with the way that the game has moved towards statistical analysis where it seems like absolutely every key decision is data driven. You can imagine some DoF more skilled in spreadsheets than coaching falling in love with one of Russy's Powerpoint presentations...

Elmer Fudd had more hunting success.

If he's not careful he'll be sacked before he has the chance to sign Nathan Wood.

But he's had real success with all his clubs once they get through it.

This is a Russell Martin defensive masterclass, fair play.

Final Week Fever: Swansea’s Striker Search and the Stakes Ahead

Eom is a couple of weeks behind most due to pre-season injuries. I don't think he's quick enough to be a winger, but he's got a lot to offer IMO. He showed enough in our run in last season to suggest that he is at least Championship capable.

Every broken dressing room needs a manager who plays favourites with some players and publically criticises the ones he doesn't like. It's the perfect remedy for discord.

    Žan Vipotnik - Swansea’s Number 9

Would rather see Widell or Eom play at #10 before Cullen.

    Žan Vipotnik - Swansea’s Number 9

If it's a choice between him and Cullen to lead the line then it's him every time.

    Yes. Yes it does.

Probably an element of that to it. A couple of trophy laden seasons in Scotland and then come back to a mid-table ish Prem side with reputation repaired/enhanced.

    Russell Martin

Can't quite believe that some pundits haven't worked out that calamitous defending is very much part and parcel of the Russell Martin experience.

    Russell Martin

Two years. And the fact that he's a laughing stock throughout football will be hurting his ego far too much for him to care about us. Not that he was particularly bothered about us when he was the manager here, just in burnishing his reputation.

    Promotion This Season ?

Fair points. Sheehan and the team are certainly going to be under pressure from the fans if the OTT reaction to the Middlesbrough game is any indication. It'll be interesting to know what the internal expectations are though. Obviously they'd be delighted to hit the ground running and be in the...

    Promotion This Season ?

Considering we could have made the playoffs last season with a squad that many people assert was almost entirely crap if we'd sacked Williams a month or two earlier, I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility for us to be there or thereabouts this season *if* the players we've...

    Cullen v Sheff Utd

The Maginot Line presumably. An argument can be made for Cullen as a backup #10, but he should never play as a striker again. It's been several years now, back to Russy, and he still looks completely out of place there. Be as critical of Vipotnik as you like, but he at least is capable of...
