I don’t think many people would have been happy at the start of the season being 18th in February regardless of what they say.
Transitional.

Yes but when we win those three games in hand... 😂

I think the table is too topsy-turvy to panic just yet but it’s not looking great.

What I find strange is how the team can play so differently in two halves of a football match?
That first half yesterday was unbelievably bad.

I'm beginning to think what playing keep ball would be like in League one?

Read in one daily paper yesterday that the Swans have made the most passes of any team in the championship, and Mat Grimes is the player that has made the most passes of any player. Seriously, where has all these passes got us as a team, to 18th in the championship. Possession for the sake of it is Seriously overrated

Yeah, I thought that too. Fulton had a bad day I think, but I don’t know about Wolfie, was he bad as well?

I didn’t realise he was playing until about 20 minutes in.

Why on earth would anyone with any gumption not see this ?

We were battered from the off, humiliatingly so. We only looked good in the 2nd half because that was Hull's strategy, they outthought and outfought us from the off.

We are defensively vulnerable. Better managers will set-up to exploit that early doors, drive at us, target our weak points, get a couple or more goals - and sit back.

Just like clever Hull did, just like top half cleverer outfits will.

Unless Martine has a plan C. Utterly found out with an utterly limited model v1.0.

Far too much heads in the sand, twp limited of thinking objectively on here, for heck sake.

I agree, but plenty of "twp limited of thinking" people on your No1 site also...

Here's a suggestion?

Give up your obsession with disrespecting people's opinion on this board and keep things clean, both sites will benefit 👌

I think I agree with you on this one.

The defence was far too narrow yesterday, and has been for quite some time. Hull saw this, and kept on getting in behind down the right channel. In the second half, they settled into a 5-3-2 park the bus shape. Our second half performance flattered to deceive.

All it takes is a team to catch us on the break and we are pants.

Martin needs to wake up now. It's admirable that he wants to stick with Plan A and get better at it. The issue is, unlike League 1, the majority of Championship sides have swathes of analysts and data experts working overtime to work out how to exploit your Plan A.

There needs to be big changes for Luton. Four at the back, diamond midfield, two strikers.

GK - Fisher
LB - Naughton
RB - Christie
CB - Cabango
CB - Burns (he's been playing weekly for City's U23s, he's ready)
DM - Downes
CM - Ntcham
CM - Grimes
AM - Wolf
ST - Piroe
ST - Obafemi

It's high time we play two centre halves at CB instead of fullbacks. Worst case scenario, Downes can drop back if Luton press hard and Cabango/Burns find themselves in trouble.

However, to give Martin some credit, he is crying out for an AM now that Pato looks to be on his way out. That said, it's pointless signing an AM if you're passing along your back three when you're 2-0 down.

You’ve got your head firmly intrenched the the rear end of that creature on the other site.

We had enough chances to get something out of that game in the second half, we created nothing in the first half. It was a dreadful first half performance.
