2 wins in 14 games

What I don't see is noticeable improvements in his 18 months here.

This is mostly what's doing it for me. That and the obvious comparisons personality wise with Garry Monk. Like our Garry he loves taking credit but palms off responsibility, is clearly full of himself and able to carry ten times his body weight in grudges.

I defended him at the start because there were flashes of something better there (and occasionally these still occur), but overall it has been disappointingly dull and a waste of a squad capable of better, without the defensive solidity that Cooper at least had going for him. For the most part we ground out wins under Cooper. Russy can't even manage that.

Not the only one.
God help you if you criticise Martin- normal answer " we're x points away from the play offs. You old people don't understand the modern game."
Yes we are close to the play offs, because this is a very weak division this year. 2 wins in 14 is normal relegation form, but you can't tell the fan children that.
Certainly not without getting abuse back, because they're entitled to their opinion and you're entitled to better hold their opinion as well

This nails it for me. I'm a patient chap, you must be of the same ilk. However, it's worn very thin with me now.

I wake up on match days without that shiver of excitement that I've had most of the time for over 50 years. Even when we were utter shit and almost out of the league I loved the anticipation of a game.
I'm now wondering if there's something better to do with my day.
Maybe I'm just getting old...

You have to give people time. Writing anyone off after a game or two, be it players or managers is the height of stupidity for me. But he's had Eighteen months and things aren't changing. All he seems to be doing is driving out anyone with a bit of character and making the same mistakes over and over and over again.

'driving out anyone with a bit of character'

and anyone with any slight element of pace.

I'm expecting Ntcham to be next. Not hard to imagine him having a bip to Martin about being left out despite consistently being the most dynamic midfielder we have.

Then he'll be out of the squad, "knowing what he has to do to get back in". If he's lucky there might even be a rumour that he's refused to play/train, wich the usual suspects will lap up.

You're right. Thank heck for PS for that proper grown up balanced perspective, for proper grown ups.

The fact is, Martin's project has failed. Martin, Martinball and his Process is flawed, in so many ways.

So far, his prime focus has been our Defence - he has spent a disproportionately massive time coaching our Defenders 1:1. Fact. Some of them are better at retaining possession, but not one of them is a better defender and collectively our Defence is now often an embarrassing shambles of cock ups.

Get Martin Out Now, replace him with a Defence coach and allow our senior players to kick on in the way they know how - playing effective and efficient winning football, again.

The propagandist Martinistas have never, ever proffered any cogent rationale for Martinball. And neither has Martin. His system, his process, his tactics, his mis-management stinks of BS. Just like his propagandist sycophants on SM.

Tatey / Rangel - how exciting could that be......

We have a calendar in our kitchen and I always put all home games on it plus a few away that I may think about. This season, I haven't attended a midweek home game and there have been many and the only away games I've been to are the ones at Bristol City as it's only a half hour drive away. I'm, sure age has got something to do with it as I can't be doing with getting home after midnight any more unless there's a good enough reason and the bottom line is that the uninspiring stuff we play is no longer a good enough reason. I also no longer consider all Saturday home games as sacrosanct and something I arrange other things around. I would be more than happy for that to change.

I have to be honest here.
Last season I was still saying give Martin a chance in January (because of no preseason, losing players,)
Took a fair amount of ribbing on here because of it. Now, with hindsight, I was wrong.
When Martin used the excuses in mid to late February plus we were playing some terrible football, from a winning position losing or getting a draw, I changed my mind
Yes Fish is better than Hamer so glad he came- better keeper as most of us knew was already here. -£400k
Thought Wood was a joke defender in his second game- but he was still played when we had better on the bench
Lati as a wing back- Really? Solid defender to have in the squad but a WB never.
Oko-Flex- obvious raw talent and a bit of pace to burn- wasted and called back
Finn- guess we'll never see if he had raw talent

Better players on the bench than in the starting 11 more than once (or 10+) this season.
Throwing people under the bus for anything, but grabbing all the glory. As someone aptly put it Monk syndrome.
Olivier not given a chance to show he can play 90 mins
Awful substitutions at times, making no sense to anyone other than Martin- opposition not believing their luck when they were being torn a new one

Yeehaas won't sack him and pay the compo unless we drop into the relegation zone.
Not going to happen. Or shouldn't with our squad.
Think Cov had 3 or 4 games in hand at one point and weren't bottom showing how poor the bottom end is.
2 wins in 14 games and we're not a fair distance off the play offs shows how weak the top is really. Burnley should have romped this season- not that far ahead of the pack

You are not alone. We all have different levels of tolerance and whilst some were quick to call out Martinball, others didn’t and stuck with their belief in ‘the process’. I’m not one for knee jerk reactions and I believe that continuity plays a big part in the success of a football club, hence I kept the faith for perhaps longer than most.

I'm one of the 'Martin In' crowd but I'm losing patience with many things at the moment. The thing that gets me the most is constantly choosing Latibeaudiere.

He plays him at wing back (he's not one!) and in a few games recently as a central defensive midfielder. I can understand him being on the bench as he can fit in a few roles IF WE ARE DESPERATE, but he's a huge liability. Picking him makes me question his judgement.

I personally hated Cooper's style, under us, and prefer Martin's, but there has to be more effort to get the ball forward and quicker. We're too predictable and we're sh!tting ourselves whenever the opponent gets the ball. At least I am. We are so open, despite having 3 central defensive midfielders in front of the defence (Joe, Jay and Matty).

One thing I keep reminding myself is our budget is bottom 1/3 and we're almost top 1/3, so we're not doing too bad, but with a few tweaks, we could do better.

Selling any half decent player doesn't help, of course......and having an in-form Obafemi and Paterson would probably make a BIG difference too, but that's not Martin's fault at all.

I see various posts about all those people defending Martin but on the 2 main websites hardly anyone is.
Virtually everyone I speak to in work or at a game feels the same, fed up with a lack of progress.
Maybe it's a social media thing - which I avoid- too old for that sh1t!!
