The best thing was Mick's opening line in his post match interview:

Chuffed with the score at the moment. Not sure Smith offers much in an attacking midfield (in fact i am sure he offers nothing). Would like to see Ntcham come on for him second half and us to turn the screw.

Laird has their defence at his mercy we need to get the ball to him early more often

Smith had an outstanding match. Continually closed them down and chased every ball. I thought he had his best match in a Swans shirt. Not the only one.

Got home about 30mins ago and still buzzing! Every player played well and played better than every single one of theirs. Paterson outstanding, best game he's played for us by far and getting better by the week. I was actually very surprised at how poor Cardiff were. I know they play hoofball but you expect teams who do that to have high energy and a physical presence all over the pitch. They were slow and lifeless. They had nothing. Moore works hard tbf but talk about feeding off scraps. If this is their new norm, it'll take something extraordinary to keep them up.

Let's hope this really kick starts our season now and we can go up a gear or 2 and stay there. Great performance & great result.

Very good all round performance however they are genuinely the worst side we've played this season. Maintain a similar performance against WBA and we might just be getting there. Thought the back three looked calm in and out of possession. Our best three IMO.

Id like to add that he was on a timer and Ntcham was going to replace him but he did well, I dont think he is the answer mind and we need to look at a left sided wingback to be a major force in this league. Downes,Grimes and Paterson need to start looking nd hitting the movement of Piroe who was fantastic today, i had a birdseye veiw across the line and he was a nightmare for the CCFC backline. But back to Smith his tireless closing down had a big effct and was a major part of our control.
