• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

He has a linkedin page that will inform you of his work history and any other relevant information. He clearly doesn't have the background to be doing the role at the club.
I have read the post on X that suggests Phil is having info and I have read a few other X posts trying to get reporters to look into things as there is a story.

The bigger questions are, did he jump on with Cravatt or did he bring Cravatt attention to the club.

I think anyone who has posted on here over the years will know the score, people who are speaking up for him will be doing so for a reason.

Sports betting and football recruitment does not go!
Mathew Benham has done ok with this approach at Brentford using analytics over instinct approach.

It can work with right people in place.

I found Hellbergs comments interesting when he did his Boro press conference. Im parphrasing but he said as soon as he talked to the DOF at Boro it was all over. To me that suggests a marked difference between our staff and theirs. People were fawning over Gorringe on that pod cast but I just saw a business man not a football man.

Tell Brighton that.

The reality is no recruitment team on the planet can fix a bare bones squad in a single window.

Those who were going over the top in pre-season and calling Richard “Lord” Montague were way over the top. No different to those now trying to pretend the window was awful.

The truth is the window was fine, better than we have seen in recent years and certainly not worthy of this revised criticism. Search back on some of the posts on this forum, X and others. Happy clappers as far as the eye can see. Some of those very posters are now sticking the knife in. They thought they were excellent signings. Much like the recruitment team did.

These young foreign boys will take a season to get going, look at Vipotnik. People were calling for his head not so long ago.

Also a lot of the pelters are for players who were here prior to the summer window. The likes of Key, Cullen, Ronald, Fulton.

I am not speaking up for him Magicdaps. And would like to think you have the club at heart. I am looking at the whole scenario. We are in a shit situation but it is too simplistic to blame one individual or indeed anyone.

The others have all gone.
Montague
Sheehan
Odea

Gorringe and Adam Worth will be next.

As regards your comment too simplistic to blame anyone..

Thats crazy there has to be accountability with the stakes and the amount of money involved

How can you say this based on our current precarious position in the league table?

I often wonder this.

4 months into the season and aside from Galbraith you'd be hard pressed to say that any of our new signings have had one really good game, let alone strung any together.

The best, imo, you can say is that some of them have looked lively on occasion

There was genuine optimism on September 2nd, and I get that because most incoming transfers do create an air of positivity. However it’s a bit of a stretch to still maintain a positive view.

Not seen the interview, but this is interesting. It would be nice to hear Hellberg’s thoughts on the club (not that we ever will) because if he’s thinking it are others seeing it too?

If you put Luke Williams in charge of Man City they'd probably get relegated. Not bad players, just not good managers in charge of them.

What's your evidence for them not being bad players? Not trying to be funny..... genuinely interested

I think you are right on that one, it would be interesting to see who was responsible for choosing who we brought in, and wasnt there some comments made from someone who left they werent too happy with the transfer dealings? or am i thinking of something else?
