I get that, but then you get the outright bullying as in Luke Chadwick's case, where even the likes of Gary Lineker wasn't averse to mocking how he looked. We're living in a very public time where everyone knows everything about people, and it's producing some very cynical people. I've always believed it's how we treat others that truly defines who we are.
A very good point and I wish we lived in a world where no one abused anyone, wouldn't that be nice, but that's not the world we live in unfortunately.

Anyway, hopefully I've made my point, I'm not going to bang on about it anymore, I just hope our club grows a pair and stops trying to blame everyone else apart from themselves, because yesterday was an absolute disgrace in that second half.

It's an imperfect world, but I agree with you re yesterday. We need to realise that the point we threw away at the end could be the difference between League One and Championship football next season.

Nobody will argue against your last sentence. However you had the responses you did because you brought the topic of bullying to the table and mixed up Luke Chadwick with the questionable performance of our recruitment team.

I’m done as well now, got several weeks of leaf fall to clean up. A feeling made worse by thought that I could have done it yesterday afternoon.

Bear in mind the affect this type of social media attention can have on a person's mental health however.
Have a good Sunday.

Having had my own mental health issues i fully agree with you, but on this case, I am at a loss of where to start, as it may run into many pages! lets just say , its best for me to say nothing!

Sports betting and recruitment have a lot of crossover. Its not unusual - Bloom brought that to Brighton.

Ethan Galbraith alone will earn the club a profit on their summer business.

The fans are lashing out at easy targets at the moment.

We are all concerned. I get it. We had the excitement of the end of last season. The new players getting signed early. Modric, Snoop . The positivity was everywhere.

Nobody is enjoying the situation we are in but we need to unify rather than looking at tearing down the club.

“Ethan Galbraith alone will earn the club a profit on their summer business.”

The biggest issue with the club at the moment is believing that that is important.

It makes not one jot of a difference if Galbraith will earn the club a profit on summer business.

What IS important, is that summer business at the moment, Galbraith included, is looking like it hasn’t put together a squad that is competent at this level.

Player trading matters, I get it, we all do, but it’s not the metric on which success should be measured in and of itself. It’s a metric that can be measured as secondary to ‘ can we actually do what is needed on the pitch’, namely - avoid relegation.

Much of the positivity was baseless. Many of us were less carried away with transfer business and nonsense like Snoop.

We need to get back to realising that we are a football club rather than a tick tock influencer.

Making money on a player if we get relegated will just be meaningless.

I don’t believe it’s as yet sunk in with those that matter that we are genuinely in with a good chance of being relegated.

Same with some fans.

People keep saying ‘we’re too good’ or ‘players are top 6’ or whatever are not watching what is happening on the pitch.

Having said that, I personally believe that some are personalising this far more than is necessary simply because of history. It’s not particularly helpful.

The whole set up of the club needs to be looked at as it appears to me to be sub optimal.

We are performing badly on the pitch and badly off it.

The only people to blame for that are the owners who have appointed people to their current positions. Not the people themselves. As no one would turn down the opportunities they’ve been given. Whether in management, operations, recruitment, coaching.

We have a large number of fans who are completely over the top (probably every club is the same).
We sign young players from overseas or League 1 that no other club at our level wants and we’re going to ‘piss the league’.
We have a couple of celebrity ‘investors’ and we are talking about premier league level social media reach.
We have an interview with the CEO which focuses almost entirely on peripheral nonsense and everyone starts talking about his genius.
We appoint a manager with no experience and everyone assumes it’s Klopp.

And when reality bites, people start falling out left right and centre and blaming individuals.

It’s the ownership. They need to focus on what it is that we do, play football, and not what marketing opportunities we can bring in. Or appoint someone that will only think about the football and leave the rest to one side. We are running before we can walk. It’s the Wrexham effect to be honest. Being dazzled by the income streams that are out there and thinking ‘we can do that if only we bring in a random celebrity or five’.

One alarming feature of our recent signings appears to be a lack of stamina/being physically capable of playing Championship football. This is before (e.g Franco) and after (e.g. Inoussa) Worth was brought on-board. Are we not getting to the part of the spreadsheet that lists physical capabilities?

We get physically and mentally overwhelmed in games. It's all very well identifying players with admirable statistical data points, but are we really doing enough to vet if these players are physically up to competing in 46 game seasons against Championship teams? I have my doubts at this point.

Im not sure what the sell on clause is, so any profit will be minimal i suspect, to any relegation, and if the big R comes along will soon be lost. but i would have thought any players brought in would be to improve the club,
Im also hoping the new manager is able to perform miracles, and get some of these prima donners to show us and themselves what they can actually achieve in life

edit in prima donna not the kebab

I never worry about the responses I get from my opinions or comments, but take your point about leaf fall 😂 it's definitely not great for our health supporting our club at the moment, I'm already on blood pressure tablets, so getting too wound up isn't a great thing to do.

Your second paragraph says it all to me.
We can't compete physically so need to be smarter and move the ball quicker and not get involved in the rough and tumble.
Problem is we are very static in our play and not on the move resulting in being caught on the ball

I agree with everything in your post above, but with regards the points I’ve cropped I think I’m really fortunate that I don’t interact with people like this (inside or outside of the ground) and don’t see these views on social media as I’m not on there.

I’d also say that 90% of the people I’ve interacted with on here appear to be far more rational even when opinions on the club/manager/players may vary.

I’m not saying these people don’t exist - I’m certain they do (hopefully they’re still a small minority of the fan base) - but my worry is that the ownership actually believe some of these things, which in itself brings us full circle to the original post… Have we employed people that are suitably experienced for the high profile roles they currently have?

It tends to be social media to be honest.

The worry is that I suspect the ownership / management put a great deal of faith in the opinions of fans on social media.

Oh, they're out there alright. I spoke to a bloke in work the other week who still thinks Martin is a fabulous coach. With a straight face.

Like you it terrifies me that we might just have people like that running the football operations at the moment.
