If that transpires then I really hope they'll have done their homework, because the thought of us being used as a vehicle to rehabilitate someone's flailing career (Steven Gerrard would be one good example) just for clicks and attention, worries me.

And I really, really don't want another 'process' manager who only talks a good game either.

Put simply - they'd better have a bloody good plan.
And not let the search drag out for weeks, months like it has in the past.

The other worry is who looks after the team of they do pull the trigger, which I don't think they will.

He 100% deserved a chance at the full time gig considering the record and tuning he got out of our depleted squad at the time, not everything works out and the showings of late have been abysmal, if it continues he goes and we get someone else, and I bet it’ll be someone who’s more of a statement/name with the new owners in charge.
What is this “deserved a chance” opinion.

I just don’t get it. He earned the right to have a good job elsewhere.

This type of mentality although nice, is not going to serve us well. I’d have invested in pedigree personally. Gone all out on it and thanked Sheehan for a wonderful job in interim.

He more than earn't the job on a full time basis. It's easy for you to act all high and mighty at the first sign of a sticky patch.

In the summer, the club had the choice of appointing Sheehan or someone else:

- If they appointed Sheehan and he failed, they'd be slated for appointing a 'caretaker' when we needed a 'proper manager'.

- If they appointed a different manager and he failed, they'd be slated for not appointing the guy who was in charge for an incredible turnaround in form and had one of the best records of any of our managers.

We all know plenty of fans would form part of the group slating the club in either scenario, which really highlights how the only way to avoid stick is to be successful. If only it were that easy eh?
