• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If Vip can get around the 15 goal mark (and to me there's no reason why he can't. He's already got at least seven despite only having ten games under a coach interested in using him properly) then he will comfortably find himself amongst the division's top scorers.

I watched him yesterday, in fact I made a point of watching him more than any other player and I'm sorry but there's no way this bloke will get you 15+ in this division.

He is painfully slow, his reactions are slow, he can't trap a bag of cement, he's not mobile enough to press effectively from the front. He's.....just not very good. He's as bad as Yates was (is).

I know he's picked up a bit under Sheehan but then you could say that for most of our players.

Centre forward position has to be addressed properly this summer. We can't keep getting away with fielding carthorses up top, it'll come back and bite us eventually.

He's already halfway there and we didn't begin to play to his strengths until the end of February. Give him a capable AM behind him and let's just say I'm still optimistic.

We will probably sign another striker to replace Yates anyway.

I disagree, I think there is a good player in there.

Only turned 23 recently and built like a brick shiite house.

Agree. First season in championship, 23, moved to different country, coached under poor manager, still not playing every game. Just look how Franco and Eom has come on since playing regular football, and they are still growing and not finished. We all want players who can start out of the blocks, but I think alot of people forget there is more than just stats involved. If someone told me I was going to a foreign country, not my first language and get to know my team, and work in an environment that is totally different to what I am used to with alot of travel. These are people at end of the day. Not robots. Many people on here need to remember this. People can debate about how much they get and all of that, but let's see what happens. Who knows. Coming into one of the most difficult leagues cannot underestimated.

Just a thought, nothing else.

Maybe Sheehan has agreed to take this role on until the end of the season and then he leaves to take up another role once the season finishes.
Yeah maybe this could be the case. It might be that he knows he has a good job offer somewhere else. Rumours that an announcement coming soon, it would be odd if they announce a new manager while we have 3 games left. At this point I don't know if I am excited about a new manager or worried. What a strange position to be in

It's almost like the pursuit before Russell joined

Just give it to Sheehan

Exactly, players are clearly doing their all for him, good set up with the coaches, no buy out fees to pay, but I’m worried Montague is focussing on possession stats. Let’s see

I remember Williams saying something along the lines of "This team are not good enough to stay in this division, we need better players". I said at that time that they might not be promotion material, but they were way better than Williams made out. He was the ultimate "throw them under the bus" if we lost. He took the plaudits when we won. I wasn't keen on Alan Sheehan initially, but, my god he's risen to the occasion. Feel good is back, and I feel we could win every time we walk onto a football pitch. I just hope the powers that be get this one right.

Great post.
I guess the only nagging doubt now is what Sheehan can/could do with new players. He's spent few years around the current crop so has had the time given. Not sure he'd be allowed a prolonged time with a new crop. Sounds unfair to me.
But he's improved Tymon( was excellent yesterday), Vipo,Eom,Ronnie and Franco are playing outa their skins now.
Gamble to replace him is beginning to look bigger than keep him.

If someone can change my mind in a few weeks to a point where I was stone faced and said Sheehan shouldn't have it to suddenly feeling like I will be super angry if he doesn't get it says alot about what he has done. OK, fickle yes. Results yes. But he has shown a side to his tactics that we have not had in a very long time. He adapts and tactically sets up his team for each match. It's not one way or high way. They need announce he has it. I fear that fans will turn on club again if he doesn't.

LOB was a late arrival and plays like he respects Sheehan

I really hope he gets it. I can understand the club putting out feelers while he’s interim coach but I really don’t think they’ll unearth anything better than they’ve accidentally stumbled across already.
