That's a lot of questions with no attempt at an answer. But one thing is certain, Sheehan knows how to get the best out of our players. And that is an actual answer.

Watching from the sidelines is clearly insufficient education for you. Proper context, is everything.

Entirely different specimens playing entirely different roles with entirely different managers.

Those that compare and contrast the two without the right context - have clearly never played the game to a (half) decent level.

I’m not sure why we still have a debate over who our new manager should be.

Sheehan is proving over his spell here that he can generate a tune out of a pretty average squad of players. If the owners add in the reinforcements that we need this summer then next year could be a good one.

Why risk going with a manager who we do not know can cut it at this level when we have someone who has proven that he can. Surely there is only one sensible solution here?

I note that Norwich has just sacked their 'long-term, strategic thinking young starlet Scandinavian manager' who turned out to be not up to much in the Championship.

(added that for the 'I can give you of examples of successful caretakers who then failed full-time' brigade.)

Unless something dramatic happens in the last 2 games, it would be astonishing if he didn't get the job. What more are they looking for in a Head Coach than what they've seen over the past couple of months?

He very much sees himself as part of the team, rather than me and ‘my team’. I like that attitude - a lot

I’m not as convinced as others seem to be, even though my instinct is always to stick not twist. Unless there’s a demonstrably better option though (and I don’t mean another possession bullshit artist) then I don’t see the board has much option…unless he asks the earth. From a risk management viewpoint, not appointing him is a pretty high risk.

It's kinda bonkers that in the space of less than two months we've gone from a point where quite a lot of people were dead set against giving even a caretaker job to "The cheap option" or "Watson's mate" to one where some people are getting quite aggy about the prospect of him not getting it.

The club don't have the luxury of being as changeable as the support is. They have to get this call right and I don't envy them the decision.

It indicates that it's down to the clubs and he doesn't want to force the issue.
I don't think it's as straight forward with Sheehan, I think he has options that might be better than what we can offer.......and he might want more in regards to recruitment than we can financially offer.

Just my opinion.

I can't see him getting the same amount of time afforded to Martin and Williams.

Sheehan has given us all a glimpse of what this squad is capable of and playing in a style of football which I've thoroughly enjoyed.

If this fella is appointed and it's more sideways and backwards, it could get toxic quite quickly.

I think the decision was made (by Sheehan and the club) when he first turned down the interim to end of season idea.
