• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Alan Sheehan on Blackburn Rovers | Reaction

Has Joe Allen been initiated into the quorum? He was in and around the technical area today despite not being in the squad.

Whenever I've seen Joey interviewed he's always come across as an intelligent, thoughtful guy. Rarely just spouting the usual cliches that you tend to get from footballers. Whilst I'm not generally hugely fond of the idea of just offering coaching slots to retiring players, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he goes on to be a good one.

Joey was obvs part of the quorum, as per. Keep up, as per, again.

Clearly tho, the quorum ain’t the quorum without the leader, but onwards and upwards.

In our new owners, we tryst….regardless of Matty et al

I agree. I think players shouldn't be just offering coaching roles because of their legendary stance in the club etc. As you said, Joe comes across thoughtful and has always seen in high regard. No idea what his mind is like for coaching, but it was really good to see players like Joe getting involved in the technical area. I am almost convinced Williams had his way and that was it. Look Sheehan might not be our answer. But everyone was calling him out in the week for being like Williams and he needed to go. Non of us know how much input any part of the set up had input when Williams was in charge. But it's clear from today, it answered that. Williams had his vision and only his.

Love Joey, but he'll have to wait until KOL has had his fill before he gets the next "cab off the rank" gig 😉

Heard from a few places that that was one of the main reasons Grimes wanted out.

Unexpected bonus.
Which makes it even more weird why he specifically mentioned Williams in his leaving statement.

Different gravy Jaxsy.
Joey is now ever more integral, the very last remaining glue to our unique playing heritage, pedigree and class

Yeah. If rumours to be true, he went to Coleman to complain about his style. I see it as simple as this.

1. Grimes Saw More Money and Took It. As it might be his last big pay day

2. Want seeing a vision or trust in Williams.Let's not forget Grimes was the player who pushed hard for Williams to be hired to Coleman.

3. Knew he was not as loved by all fans at Swansea and wanted a new fresh start.

It's defo weird. But some throw their bosses under the bus when they go and start a new job or keep it professional and don't. I think to his credit he has always publicly said the right things. What he has done behind the scenes is a whole different thing. And only having 5 players/staff say good bye to him tells you what need to know about the man and how he handled the situation.

Matty is the consummate pro - always puts the greater good ahead of himself - which is why he always played x3 roles to cover for the collective deficiencies of a team mismanaged by a couple of frauds

Probably a bit early to call, but would you want Grimes back after all this? You know, hypothetically. Of course it would never happen. "the Swansea way" needs to evolve somewhat since we've stagnated.

Good Lord no. Today was a perfect example of a dynamic, proactive midfield instead of a passive, reactive one.
