• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Watching the players’ technical failings on Saturday, I’d find it hard to give evidence that we have a highly skilled team. My opinion? The whole caboodle gets nowhere near the hype, and then the hypesters need someone to blame…always the manager. Not that Sheehan’s tactics and selections are blameless, they are not, and we need more urgency and intent, but this is not a set of players with a lot of consistent threat. If we start conceding, we’ll be in a right pickle.
I don’t think the players we have brought in are instant top 6 quality but looking at Stamenic and Galbraith for their national teams and the general liveliness of Inoussa, I do think they are easily Championship standard, especially this season where the league doesn’t appear to be anything special.

I think there has been a definite underperformance from us so far this season. Whether it’s because of the way the players are set up or the fact they are still getting used to a new league is up for debate though.

Keep hearing this a lot.

In previous seasons where it's been the same three up and the same three down, it was taken as a sign that the rest of the league was shite.

Now Ipswich Southampton and Leicester haven't had the greatest of starts, well, apparently the league is also still shite.

Cakeism.

Maybe the truth is this: it's a very hard league every year, no easy games, and nothing's changed in that respect.

Having said what I said about the league this season I do think it’s still slightly early to judge it at this point, one or two of the parachute teams will no doubt find form at some stage.

What I should have said is that based on the first 10 games it doesn’t look to be of that much quality. Apart from Coventry I don’t think anyone else looks a class above.

The Championship is still the Championship where ny team can beat any other.
The relegated three may not be as strong as usual (Luton went down again last year though) but thr promoted three are a bit stronger than normal. It's a very tough slog over 46 games and the big squads rather than first 11 usually prevail.
