Ayew out. Wilson in on loan to replace

Liverpool demanding well over 1M loan fee, that's us out then..

Different terms for us apparently, forest and derby quoted 1m loan fee but Liverpool are apparently impressed by Brewster so much that they will offer easier terms. Just a rumour bug what I've heard

Liverpool formerly rejected our offer based on financial terms offered, Derby favourites.

Understand Liverpool have formally rejected Swansea's loan offer for Harry Wilson.
Financially the deal proposed was a non-starter.
Swansea were in the driving seat from a football perspective.
Derby favourites now - no agreement yet.
Remains to be seen if Swansea go back.

£1M loan fee. We haven't got a pot to piss in at the mo!

You can understand why he is reluctant to leave, as it is unlikely he'll ever play in the Premier League again unless he either improves significantly or gains promotion with a Championship side. It really is a shame that the very exciting group of youngsters Wales had breaking into first team football a few years ago all have stalled in their development and look nothing more than second tier players.

Bless !

My Irish friend has just seen the Euro Nations league tables. He said Wales are top, the English turd dizzy.

Don't agree with you often, but it does make me wonder if throwing these guys on so young for Wales can sometimes be detrimental to their development, as they fail to live up to the hype. Who would have thought Woodburn would have gone the way he has when he burst on for Wales what seems an age ago now. Wilson seems to be going the same way, though he does have that decent season at Derby which, unlike Woodburn, proves he can do it on club level in this league. It certainly would be make or break for him if he came here though.

Liverpool are taking the pee there. Allowing their player to develop at a very high level outside of the PL should be as good as a fee.

Unfortunately someone else will probably take a gamble on him. £1m for a loan fee, especially in these challenging times, is barmy. Especially for a player who isn't exactly proven. It shows how out of touch the PL clubs are.

International football isn't exactly a great standard though, is it. Winning 1 or 2 nil against the likes of Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Trinidad & Tobago, etc., shouldn't be too challenging if these players are as good as we are led to believe.

A lot of the youngsters are qualify for the countries as well as Wales - usually England.
They get caps in competitive matches early to tie them to Wales.

To be fair, given the paucity of resources Wales have to call on, managers have to throw the youngsters in and see if they sink or swim, regardless of their experience at club level.

Sometimes it's someone like Bale, Ramsey or Ampadu. Other times it's a Ryan Green, Lewin Nyatanga or Ben Woodburn.

Despite the WUM's usual poor attempt, a squad full of second tier players with a sprinkling of top tier talent is probably the best Wales can hope for and would probably be enough to achieve relative success.
