Looking for a pair of comfy trainers that offer good support for long walks.

Any ideas?

personally from a cost perspective I find the karrimor walking shoes/boots from sports direct comfy. Maybe not the most stylish or branded, but they work for me on walks with mates, never a blister to be seen.

I've had a pair of karrimor for walking around Cornwall, still going strong 5 years on.

I’ve got one of these.

Mrs L and I walk miles in the Kent countryside and at Christmas she got me a pair of Merrell walking shoes. Most comfortable and supportive I've ever worn. Blacks sell them

Racist.

Just get a pair of Nike Airs. If you really want those water proof trail walking type things you need look no further than Salomons.

Get the correct ones for your gait, will save you ankle/knee/hip/back issues.

Try buying a pair not made from forced labour in dangerous conditions using toxic materials. Veja is a company that ticks the boxes https://project.veja-store.com/en/single/production/

Bought a pair of ASICS a few years ago and they’re the best pair of trainers I’ve ever bought, really light and very comfortable. Tend to use them for very brisk 3 to 4 mile walks or on the tread mill. If you’re doing a lot of walking, then shoes may be a better option. I’d recommend you get a pair that are waterproof - Gortex or similar. I got a pair of North Face in the sales at Cotswold a few years ago and they’ve been decent. Keep an eye on the sales.

I also use Merrell low walking boots, Sports Direct, use Sketchers trainers for casual use, both very comfortable.

I've used Trespass for walking for years now and never had any problems with them. Mrs K has had all sorts including Karrimor, Trespass, Riemot, Mountain Warehouse, Merrell, Regatta and probably a few others and she doesn't like any of them but don't let that put your off those brands because she's nuts

I still routinely use the pair of Scarpa walking boots I wore on a Gorseinon Tertiary College trip to Moscow and Leningrad (then) in 1988. Scarpa quality is on another level.

I have also bought a cheapo pair of modern Karrimor walking shoes off E-bay for pennies and have been well impressed by them.
