Braverman

I see that an elderly Jewish lady who lost family members in the Holocaust was arrested for a hate crime last weekend.
Her "hate crime" was protesting about the slaughter of Palestinian children in Gaza by Israel. (Yes, you read that right).
This is Braverman's Britain. It's utterly shameful.

For quite a while now, I've been wondering who is the least likeable MP between Coffey and Braverman but this latest vile utterance has removed any doubt. Coffey is indeed useless, breathtakingly arrogant and thoroughly unlikeable but the vile slime Braverman is now on a completely different level and it's a level I would never have believed could exist in our parliament. Maybe I just believed the British public could never elect someone quite so shamelessly disgusting but how times have changed. If Sunak has even a microscopic element of decency, surely he must be cringing in embarrassment every time this monster of a 'woman' speaks. The fact that she's manoeuvring to become the next leader of the Nasty Party is a truly scary and saddening prospect but if it makes them unelectable for the next decade, it will be some sort of silver lining in what is rapidly becoming a darker and darker cloud.

Coffey flies under the radar a bit doesn’t she, but it’s rare to find a minister so inept and seemingly unaware of it. But as much as they both come across as unlikeable people, Braverman is pure evil. The unrestrained glee she has when people are suffering and down on their luck is sociopathic. She’s got a black heart.

Sunak’s not going to oppose this. He’ll happily go along if the focus groups suggest being bastards is a vote winner. He’s utterly spineless.

I’m not overly political. I’ve never been in a party, never had a ‘team’ I always vote for or defend. But I detest this lot with every fibre of my body. The damage they’ve done to the country and the misery they’ve caused decent people deserves to see them up in front of a judge. They need to be gone. For our futures, and our kids and grandkids futures, they have to be routed and consigned to history.

Ok I'll bite - why wouldn't it? Collecting what's owed by tax dodging corporations and non doms mean we can fund public services.

Granted there needs to be a cleansing of these god awful outsourced contracts. To the likes of Serco and Crapita and there are other things.

Some won't see this, because they don't want to see it W55, they are blinded by their deluded faith in this current Government.

It’s the word “sorted” that made me respond. It might ‘help’ but it wouldn’t sort anything and it’s also not a simple to implement in a globalised economy now.

To truly resolve an issue like Corporate Tax you would need to be multilateral in approach. Fundamentally clever Corporations will always find a way around tax regimes. The emphasis here is on “global” these businesses have a market in the UK but that’s it they can locate their headquarters anywhere. I’m not saying nothing can be done but it needs a European even Global outcome. Why did the Republic drops Corporation Tax to around 10%? Because it attracted lots of inward investment and their economy has grown substantially since with consequently higher tax revenues.

I absolutely agree that taxation needs looking at. For me it’s the complicated tax regime that needs reviewing, with this Id like to moves to helping smaller businesses compete but it’s incredibly complex and there’s many unintended consequences if it wasn’t implemented correctly eg go too far you could see larger businesses moving operations and mass unemployment.

Your assumption that this is all to do with money is the other issue I have. My point is heavily focused on high complicated and multifaceted the issue is.

I’d say your idea raised billions do you think the public or Government would focus on homelessness or eg “more money for nhs”

If you were to tackle homelessness it would require more money yes but it would also require a complete overhaul of many aspects of modern society and massive investment into drug rehabilitation, social services etc etc etc.

I’m simply saying that whenever these issues come up we have the left wing trump card:

More money from tax dodgers and companies

Right wing trump card:

Cut foreign aid

It’s way way way more complex than that

I think you make a fair and balanced point there. I've misunderstood you and I'd say we are probably closer aligned than our posts suggest 👍🏼

Absolute fucking cretins. This has nothing to do with honouring the war dead, but all about trying to attack brown people whilst full of beer and sniff.

That won't change in my opinion, although this country as changed virtually beyond recognition these last 20 odd years or more and sadly not for the better.
