• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Just a fire fighting exercise on his behalf to save face and turn the situation on to Brendan.

There's no way he's walking away from the club without good reason.
There's more to this than meets the eye Smurph, Desmond isn't liked by the supporters, the board are despised, MON is rightly regarded as the best Celtic manager since Jock Stien, but he's also a close friend of Dermot Desmond.
Brendan Rodgers hasn't covered himself with glory results wise this season, but there is more at play going on, trust me.

I wonder if there's any hint of romanticism within Brendan that would tempt him back here. I don't doubt that he probably thinks he's above where we are now, a PL manager at least, but there are plenty of successful/famous/big managers who step into our league now. The league is on another level than it was when he was last with us in terms of competition.

Speaking of big name managers, still mad to think Rafa Benitez managed in the Championship.

If he was ever going to drop down to us, this push into bigger markets with the new owners would certainly not be harmed by bringing in a big name manager...

Does Brendan instantly deserve a shot at a mid table premier league club if it comes up?

For me, he is a lower premier league team or a championship team with ambition material.

Only if the money is right and he gets backed.

In any case he resigned and wasn't sacked, which would imply that the pay off a manager would usually be due isn't happening in this case. I mean not that Brendan isn't well off from his time at Liverpool, Celtic and the sacking compo from Leicester.

It would be a ballsy move for the club to sack Sheehan and I don't see it happening unless performances and results continue to be disappointing / borderline disastrous as they have been for the last month and half.

Some of the best football I’ve seen at the Swans was under Brendan’s leadership.
Loved to have seen him back here.
I posted the other day after watching Brentford v Liverpool and Chelsea v Sunderland that Brentford and Sunderland's performances reminded me so much of us under Brendan and Laudrup.

It's not gonna happen and who knows if it would work. But Rodgers back at Swans. Reunited with O Dea would be a real statement. Again won't happen, but I think Rodgers is best taking a team who is not in the Premier league and build them up. But don't think his ego would ever allow it.

Hell of a statement. If he indicated he would come back, would we take the hit, sack Sheehan and bring Rodgers in? Fantasy really but would be in my mind a real intent of ambition.
