• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Anytime in the second half of their 5 year term of office.
They can have the remainder of the fiscal year in which they came into power, plus one more year.

I’d be surprised if reform picked up many votes, the bits I’ve read about them, their party seems in disarray.

They wouldn’t get my vote, it will be the conservatives my X will go in. Better the devil you know, and all that.
That started all so well and then you ruined it 😂

It takes a special way of thinking to look at the current Conservative Party and at the carnage of 2010 to 2024 and come to the conclusion that “yes, that’s definitely the party for me”.

Fair enough, but I feel I have little choice than to vote Conservative. Can’t vote labour or reform, and plaid were with welsh labour for the last few years, before they decided to pull the plug over the gething scandal, so I can’t vote for any party that was involved with drakeford and his mob, I know it’s not the best idea, but there is literally no other party to put an X in the box, rather than the conservatives.

So, to sum up.

Unusually, everyone on this site congratulates the government on doing this. But they should have done more for Port Talbot and stop being so beastly to the last Conservative Government for what happened when the Conservatives were in charge for the last fourteen (14) years.

OK?

The house of commons hopefully, god knows what state the Country will be in by 2029, the black hole that apparently needed filling is even deeper now.
The House of Commons in which Labour has a majority of 170 it won less than a year ago? I wouldn’t hold your breath for that mate.

This government have been in for 8 months or so and the previous government were in for 14 years. Of course they’re going to blame the previous government as it is, definitely, their fault that we are in the mess we are in.
Brexit alone is the cause of huge financial pressure. And essential services were systematically defunded over a decade or more in a transfer range of wealth to a tiny minority.
Asylum seekers are a great example of something that was literally out of control under the last government. At least this government are attempting to do something.

The bigger issue around migration though is what people suggest happens if we cut numbers of immigrants. We simply do not have enough people in the workforce to pay for the boomer generation’s pensions and healthcare. So immigration is the only way of dealing with it. It was far easier when we had freedom of movement with the EU as people could come and go on a temporary basis to fill economic gaps. We don’t have that now, so migration has switched to more permanence which cause a lot of issues.
Thousands and Thousands of illegal immigrants all men of fighting age have arrived here,, up to 30 Thousand since this government has been in power so what exactly are this government doing, Starmer is a former Human rights Lawyer so we know what his first thoughts will be, nobody knows who these people are or what their backgrounds are, they can't provide for themselves so its down to the hardworking british taxpayer to fund their stay.

They can't work except illegally and for cash.

They are housed in hotels and other accommodation, some even have the audacity to complain about the accomodation they're in, while we got thousands of homeless British people who can't get a look in.

We are being royally rinised on a daily basis, there's no hope on the horizon either, because there's not a politician out there who are worthy of the name in ANY party, they are all perched up in their ivory towers counting their millions, with no idea on how the people they are supposed to "represent" live.

You are obviously very happy with the way this country is going then. People aren't gonna continue to put up with the way things are going.
Can't you see it yourself ?

I think the government has had to make difficult decisions given the mess they inherited. Some I agree with some I don’t. I don’t think they’re perfect by any means, no government is. But they’re infinitely better than the previous incumbents who flat out refused to make any decisions for about five years.

The government has deported more in nine months than in the previous five years.

Why are they allowing them to land they should deploy the Navy to turn them back in the Channel and why are we still paying the French to stop them crossing, because they couldn't stop a pig in a poke.

Well if it’s that simple I’m sure someone would have done it years ago.
