• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Shame.

We were linked to that Cox few weeks ago. But that's going quiet too. Did he join Hull?

Not ITK after all then 😂

Ah it happens phil, won’t be the first or last a deal doesn’t materialise mate.

All the journos had him down as our first choice aswell. Definitely close I reckon.

In Watson we trust, we move on. Lewis may be a more solid target as well given the NI connections. All is a little too quiet on the transfer front right now though..... maybe we are waiting for a piroe sale to sanction a bunch of deals? Will be interesting to see if he gets minutes tonight

Don't know anything about the lad.
So no idea really if we've missed out.
we'll know in a couple of weeks time, if he rips us a new one then questions need to be asked

Ah well, some random Derby County supporter on twitter reckons he's the worst, most one footed left back they've ever had at the club. I'll take his word for it, it's better than getting worked up about it!

The left foot can be seen at 5:10 in the game vs Werder.

Ah well….

Story of my life Phil - never have been 😂😂.

Edit: Just realised you probably meant someone else.

I meant me on this occasion 😂😂

I think people are getting overly stressed about all this pre-season stuff. The defeats and manner of the defeats do concern me, but I expect at least Piroe, Grimes and one other key player (West or Ntcham) to leave. That should bring in roughly £20m. Maybe more.

Let's say we could have £10m ready to spend already, that's a huge budget. It wouldn't make sense aiming for lower level targets if we will be able to go for much better players in a few weeks.

It's all about setting deadlines (to players, agents and other clubs), being prepared for every eventuality and then executing the plan as and when things happen.

For the first time in a while, I'm actually quietly confident.

Seeing elsewhere that Duff's comments about needing 5 or 6 players was a "startling admission" made me laugh. It's not startling, unless your head is buried in the sand. We need 3 (at least) now. Probably 4 or 5 actually, if we want decent depth that a promotion chasing squad need. If Piroe, Grimes and Ntcham leave, we will need 6 or 7, in my opinion.

Let's not judge yet. Of course we can be concerned by the performances so far, but let's try to be patient and realise that the window's still open for over a month.

I'm far more focused on what the squad looks like on September 2nd than now.
