Watching these two and you can't half tell the difference between those up top and us. They both play their players in the appropriate positions for starters. The full backs are full backs that overlap. Not meandering like ours. They play triangles. Like us. But, and a huge but, they always look to go forward wherever possible. A big chasm between us and them. (Also taking my mind off the potential calamity tomorrow, which is nice)

Night and day in watching these, and Bashir Humphreys many said he wasn’t good enough for us under Duff and Williams, yet he’s a constant starter for Burnley, just takes a good coach to see the potential in players and utilise them correctly.

Fuck me I can guarantee 90% of this forum said humorehys was a waste of a loan last year but now pelting the club and manager because he wasn't used, can't win mun

After seeing what he has done this season for Burnley, it does hint at he wasn't played properly for us. So he did look like a waste of a loan at the time. Being highly regarded of at Chelsea suggested he wasn't as bad as he appeared. Again, this hints at our recent managers not knowing what to do with players which is quite evident this season.

It appears to be that our coaches wasted the loan. He came here with a growing reputation, which we then took backwards. I’m pleased that he has been able to resurrect his career path, good for him.

I liked Humphreys. He was just raw.

Both Burnley and Sunderland with their current team would be creamed every week in the PL. That’s how far away we are.

We need better players for sure but (on repeat alert) we need a manager that has f******g clue too, not a van driver with inverted fullbacks. I see the latest PL trend is to pass it straight back to the goalie from kick off to lump it upfield. I bet we start doing that. For one thing it gives Vig a touch, and he doesn’t get many.

Grimes is programmed to go backwards and sideways not forward even when there is no opposition threat near him.

Robbie James would have head up and shoulders back and attack forward
