He was immense at the back
There is some numptys on here that don't rate him

great defender geoff but wish he would stop the hoofing

He reminds me of a young horse. Strong and hard to get past, but hasn't quite got the hang of his legs yet.

Is that why he 'hoofs' it a lot?

Since first seeing him at 17/ 18 it was obvious he was a leader.
Today again he was immense, an old fashioned centre half, organising and doing the dirty work to allow Guehi and Naughton some freedom.
How good is he? People have largely stopped referring to his age.
As pointed out by O’Leary the defence and Woodman had no option but to kick long as none of the midfield were making themselves available to play out from the back.

He's young can play a bit if needed but doing the basics first ,get rid of it ash Williams was the same most of the time

Needs to find his range with the long diagonals and then he could turn into another Ash W.

He's an excellent defender with age still on his side - could certainly be our 'new Ash'. I never understand some of the pelters he gets on here. He could easily be in the centre of our defence for the next 10 years.

He's decent and a bit of attacking threat.

I wouldn't have said that 18 months ago. He looked slow and a barge in open sea could turn quicker but he's come on leaps and bounds, maybe playing alongside Bennet and particularly Guehi has reassured him and given him confidence in the same way that Monk bought along Ash and Caulker. It will be interesting to see how he goes in front of crowds but he's probably our fastest improving player and he's become a bit of an asset.

Still not even 21 years of age. He’s at that stage of his career where he will learn at a faster rate than at any other time. Don’t be surprised by the speed of his development, both physically and on the pitch.

Must be weird for him coming from bluebird stock.

:joy: :joy:

must be hard knowing your neighbours are supplying for the national team for the next decade you imbred little scab
