The US should be thought of as a Continent. It’s vastly different in geography, politics etc wherever you are.

That’s very true. The towns, cities and states along the Northeastern coast bear no resemblance whatsoever to Southern California with its strong Hispanic influence. Worlds apart in most senses.

I would like to be able to complete the fifty state challenge. The next mission is Chicago to Seattle by car, across the plains of North & South Dakota, Montana (where I have an old uni friend) and Idaho. Another world again.

I would love to visit the States, and also many other countries. No way can I afford it at the moment, but if I could, I would love to go.
