Is Flynn the new manager and that's why he's having all these friendlies so that he can familiarise himself with the players!!?

On a more serious note, am I the only one that finds it strange that he doesn't say anything about looking forward for the season to start? That he's determined to go one step further than last season? Perhaps I'm seeing something that isn't there, but for me it's very odd.

Removing Marsh would be basically trying to manage Cooper out in my opinion, I’m pretty sure Jenkins tried doing similar with Laudrup?

Not something I would agree with one bit. Obvious complete speculation as I’ve heard nothing, but Marsh is nowhere to be seen and it’s very odd. Assuming Margetson is still here as we have signed his lad up.

Good source saying Steve Cooper to leave the club this week. Before next game probably

Word from official at club is that Mike Marsh's absence down too personal tragic family matters - a family member suddenly passing. Would think Marsh will follow Cooper wether club like it or not.

Not sure what jobs out there for them rite now. More chance of them getting job if they leave now though rather than try and take this poor squad through a season in Champ and end up mid table or getting sacked when the player don't perform. Squad not good enough don't think.

Margetson absence down to his involve with England at Euros. Unclear if he will leave but would think he leave too.

No news on new manager - Alan Tate maybe? Interim? Toshack? Andy Scott the Scout? Can't see the club having anyone to inspiring. Not going to pay compensation (irony) to another club for Appleton or flynn etc. So will be an out of work manager or someone at u23s level premier league maybe.

Crazy this club could have saved time and money letting Cooper go to Palace a few weeks ago and got a start on coming season. Why did hey hold out for 3 million, could have just dropped that got a little and save now on getting new manager and paying off Cooper.

Dont blame him for leaving. Club haven't backed him since he arrived. Got POs x2 on a non existent budget, layers that can't play football who are old, injured, or from the MLS. Hard to ignore if recruitment was better in Jan we would probably be Premier League tight now.

If it wasn't for his contacts the loan players wouldn't have come in and we would never have done as well as he has.

Talk is club have no more money spend on players unless they get a high high price for some of their players now,and they can use a small amount of that. grimes linked? Could we get 10m? Don't know who else anyone would come in for.

All about money. Ending up we paying out more than if we let Cooper go weeks ago. Why didn't we sort it then. Put him on gardening leave and get a manager in before we start training and pre season games. New guy will be 3 weeks behind and it is going to effect our first few weeks of Champ at least. Predicting bad season

Imagine club had backed him and bought him players that could play the way he has talked about. Easy to forget he had e likes of sancho, foden, woodman, guehi, browster, Gallagher, and more with England u17. Not as hard getting them to play good footy compared to the crop in the squad now. Not even mentioning the squads (non existen) athletic ability.

Be nice if the club went all out to get Eddie Howe. No way we pay his wage demand though is there. Hope they turn a corner nowwhen this is over and we get a good manager and back them. Dream on though

I just don’t get this non existent budget thing… we spent more than most last season.

£4 million on Ayew’s wages alone… £800k Lowe, £750k Whittaker… £35k a week on Hourihane plus loan fee.

The board have backed the manager every year since they’ve been here… in my opinion they spent too much trying to keep us in the Premier League.

I just don’t get this non existent budget thing… we spent more than most last season.

The board have backed the manager every year since they’ve been here… in my opinion they spent too much trying to keep us in the Premier League.

I said it before I’d rather us remain a steadily run club in the green and still finishing in play offs than having 80M debt like Stoke and finishing mid table bottom half.

As you touched on the wages being payed were massive, and we still invested in loans/transfers albeit in smaller fees, I always wonder do people seem to just think there’s no fees involved in loans? We don’t know how much fees these Premier League teams are asking for but I doubt they are pennies.
