Covid Making a Comeback Apparently

Professor said:
Newer Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 sub-variants. Still mild (if vaccinated) but no immune protection from prior exposure to the earlier BA.1 and BA.2 types- hence lots of re-infections and no ‘natural’ immunity beloved by the anti-vax nutters. If you are vaccinated it’s a flu-like illness.

Would you know if it was the same flu-like symptoms for the immuno suppressed? Thanks.

What’s going on with jabs these days, has roll out stopped?

I managed to get 5G signal after three doses but haven’t heard about jab #4.

I dunno, I've had 3 and I've had covid not having anymore jabs, my youngest is clinically vulnerable and I don't want him to have another jab either if I can help it, he's had two stays in hospital in the last 7/8 months and its been rare for him to need to go in once a year, makes me think that the jabs could have contributed to that, but who knows.

Prof, can you have it and the tests not show up as you having it ?

I've had it once over Christmas, but been rough this week, took the nostril test Sunday evening and Monday morning before work and did the throat and nostril test when I came home from work last night, cause I felt really rough.

Still an increased risk I am afraid. High risk groups are not being considered properly IMO.

The lateral flow tests are in the region of 75-90% accurate. You have to be shedding a fair amount of virus for them to work. There will always be false negatives -ie infected but test negative relying on these tests. It's why the more accurate PCR test was/is important. Very few false negatives. Problem being the nutters focus on the small number of false positives (less than 1%). Better having fewer false negatives for a disease like tis.
