Covid Reflection Day

My wife works in education, but I’ve stopped giving her the satisfaction of knowing how envious I am of her quarter of a year holiday entitlement.
My wife was a teacher and worked harder during most of the school holidays than I did in work.

In fairness to our respective wives, there is work to be done outside of the classroom. I often find myself allocated the job of laminator, IT technician, proof reader. Unpaid I might add!

Absolutely! It pisses me right off that I can't work from home but my wife can! 😫
I’m too easily distracted to work from home, done it for one day and found it wasn’t for me. I’d also miss the dinner time ripping of the Reform supporters I work with.

It’s certainly within reach within automotive manufacturing. Car plants will work 24/7 (with the exception of a Saturday night) in some cases, but the office staff hours are not aligned with blue collar hours. It just needs a little bit of open mind thinking and some organisation, definitely a theme to keep exploring.
Comes down to trust as well.

A lot of businesses need to evolve or risk losing employees for companies that a progressive outlook to hoe they operate.

The whole 9-5 needs to be thrown out of the window as well.

Yep, fully agree and I said something similar on a previous post. An employee satisfied with working conditions is less likely to jump ship. It’s not always about the size of the pay cheque.

More likely to go above and beyond as well.

I'm a lone worker I get my work down in the morning and off I go and do it nobody bothers me, apart from phone calls on some days, proper headache stuff.

The people who shout loudest against WFH are business people that own rental office space. Lots of empty commercial buildings around

The Supermarket I work in had a controlled and in fairness a sensible approach used by the customers .
Maybe we were lucky to get off lightly in respect of sickness and some long term effects .

My good mate was asked to sign a DNR request regarding his mothers ill health and possible outcomes of COVID .

He did not sign , but was at his wits end making that call , his mother died a few months later of natural causes .

Isn’t it awful Coops?
There I am being nice to a hard working family man and I get abuse.
And people think I’m the cunt. 😡
You’re a very nice man. I hope you’re ok.

I can only assume that Max was having a bad day, stuck in 20 mph traffic jams.
