Thing is if the majority of your posts are negative people will start dismissing them. There are a select few on here that never have anything good to say and it’s easy to spot.

On the coaches thing I don’t know the actual numbers of coaches by teams. But the dugouts have grown year by year as the game has got more professional. I doubt we’re an outlier in this at all.

And what do you actually expect the leadership of the club to say to someone outside of the club in that situation? They’re not going to be saying anything negative publicly that’s how it will be in any team or any company.

To be fair to that poster, the majority of their posts aren’t negative.

You seem shocked that on a fan forum fans are going to defend their team. People come here because they enjoy watching the Swans play football and they want to talk about it.

Yes things this season started really bad, but it’s starting to turn a corner. People can see that and are getting excited by it.

I just don’t see what value you get out of following a team if you’re going to be consistently negative about them. Do you want to be proven right and watch us fail?

Things didn't start out bad, it was steady and then got worse which ultimately ended with Sheehan losing his job.
Things certainly have a more positive feel especially in the way the new board are being proactive which is so refreshing. I started the thread in light of the words that suggested that a DOF with football knowledge and experience was being sought and time would be taken to get the correct person in.....it's opened up the conversation especially if rumours that a poster spoke to owners and people within the club who have suggested something different in regards to DOF that was suggested at the fans forum.
Hopefully they stick to the plan of an experienced DOF who knows how things work and hopefully haven't been persuaded differently off the back of a few good results.

I think an experienced knowledgeable DOF is a must for us to progress and give valuable insight to a very proactive group of owners.

I don’t know where you are getting the idea that the plan has changed. They are still looking for a DoF and whoever the DoF is, by the nature of the job, will need to have had experience in football. But there is no rush, just like they said in the forum, the club is ticking along and improving nicely.

I don’t know where you are getting the idea that the plan has changed. They are still looking for a DoF and whoever the DoF is, by the nature of the job, will need to have had experience in football. I'm just trying to give my view and ultimately my opinion that the club needs some experience and guidance.....that's far from being negative and creating dramatics! I want to see us be strong with an appointment that can eradicate previous mistakes and push on and make us stronger.
I would not agree that it's ticking along and improving though.....the foundation and pro active approach from the owners certainly gives hope that it can be done with the right foundations in place including a DOF who can oversee important areas in the club and ones that need improvement to allow us to grow.

I am more than happy to watch how it plays out but there are clearly issues in areas that could easily trouble us.
Hopefully a DOF comes in from outside(with experience in the field) and is in full control of areas that a DOF should be in control of.

I should have put overseen the recruitment team. I just read back and what I wrote does suggest that they would over see the whole recruitment which isn't the case.

For me, I believe we need a proper experienced DOF in place, a DOF who does what a DOF football is meant to do. The owners need to go down this route, it needs to be thorough and then put their faith in that person to oversee all things football and be their go to.

These owners seem to want to make a right go of it and they need to have someone with the expertise, experience and understanding of running a football club.
The new guy obviously needs to be in tune with how the club needs to go, as well as be aware of our history when it comes to playing football. They need to be involved in recruitment, if that is being involved or overseeing the stages then it needs to be the case otherwise he would only be a DOF in title alone. People can't be saying we are league leaders in things especially when we are not seeing the results(performances) on the pitch.
