• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Another underachieving manager still getting gigs. Linked with Wycombe's new boss.

Wonder how these guys explain away failure from previous contracts.

Hes been appointed. Maybe 2 hours after Mike Dodds was announced as gone.

Duff at least has a sembelence of success to live off. Did well at Cheltenham and Barnsley, wasn't a catstrophic failure with us or Huddersfield.

Martin is the most egregious one - virtually nothing of note apart from play-off promotion with arguably the best squad in the league

Come on, let's not rewrite history on Duff.

Left us in 18th after 1 win in 8, that after failing to win in his first 7 games.

He was very weird in his media appearances, tone deaf to what the fans wanted, and the football was in its own way as awful as anything Martin or Williams produced.

Should never have been given the job. An Andy Coleman disasterclass.

I don't think he was good at all here, but hindsight makes you realise how poor that squad was. A lot of people were surprised when he was sacked too, it was quite sudden. It also wasn't as if we were extraordinarily better once he'd left

He wasn’t the right fit for us, but it was the direction the club thought they wanted to go in at the time so it’s not all his fault. I don’t think for a second that he’s a bad manager and he’ll go on to carve out a decent record at the right club. It was a mis-step but Williams wasn’t any better, he just peddled a semblance of the passing game.

His Huddersfield side started well and then fell off a cliff due to injuries. Another dinosaur stuck in the 70s who is obsessed by running without the ball (and then wondering why half the squad have soft tissue injuries)

His attitude to the SW Derby stunk

Totally didn't get it. Underestimated the importance of telling the fans what they want to hear. Fine to play it down behind closed doors if that's what he preferred, but it was suicidal to vocalise it publicly.

He wouldn't be alone in that mind. I don't think a lot of people outside south Wales realise it's on a par with Rangers v Celtic in these parts. Pure hatred, losing is simply not acceptable.

Throw in that he was talking like David Icke (people talking around corridors etc.)...
