If Wales are to have any hope then they have to beat Switzerland in their opener

Dont think they are good enough to beat Turkey, who are defensively very strong, and one of my dark horses.

In normal times, the support Turkey would have in Baku would also have been a huge factor, not sure how that will play out now

And of course it will already be over if they have to travel to Rome, needing a win against Italy

Im confident Italy have never lost competitively in Rome.

Elsewhere, with the nature of the tournament, you have to look at one of the main host nations as winning it

Unfortunately, with the Semis and Final in Wembley, that rightly leaves England as favorites

Again they dont lose often at Wembley, and should they win the group they may have to negotiate a tricky game in Rome against the runners up of the group concerning Portugal/France/Germany, but other than that it is Wembley all the way.

Spain and Italys squads are not ready to win this tournament

Belgium have to travel to two host countries in the group, Denmark and Russia, but they should be ok, its now or never for that squad really

France/Germany/Portugal may knock one another out of the competiton, directly or indirectly

Netherlands far too inconsistent to win it

Croatia squad may have one last run to the latter stages in them

Denmark join Turkey as main dark horses

Should be a cracker of a tournament anyway

Good points all round. Would say though that the reason England don't lose many at Wembley is that most of their games there are qualifying games. With England's quality and depth, they rightly piss the qualifiers almost every time. Doesn't stop them sh*tting in the bed in tournament matches though and Germany in '96 proved Wembley was no issue even when full of fans.

Alexander Arnold out, England's chances just got a lot less

In all honesty, don't think losing their 4th choice right-back (who Southgate obviously doesn't fancy in his system) is going to have a major impact on their chances.

Well that friendly was underwhelming, let's hope it was just that "a friendly".. here's my starting XI..

Ward (for his performance against France and better distribution than Hennessey)

Roberts
Ampadu
Rodon
Davies
Williams

Allen
Morrell/Levitt/Smith

Ramsey
Bale
James

We've got good options on the bench and can even go 4 at the back so Ramsey can play behind Moore

Ward

Williams
Rodon
Cabango
Davies

Allen
Morrell/Levitt/Smith/Ampadu
Ramsey

Bale
Moore
James

Those teams have no Wilson or Brooks, positives over the last two matches is boys getting minutes on the park, today Ramsey, Allen, Ben Davies all had an hour of footie.

Hence why I said good options off the bench, Brooks, Wilson and even Tyler Roberts are better back ups than what we had in 2016

I would like to have seen Cabango being given a chance against France or Albania alongside Rodon as Mepham seems out of form to me, can't see Cabango starting now without any warm up matches, Cabango did have a torrid time against Mexico in my view (although some casual observers thought he did well), I thought Cabango came back well at the end of the season for Swansea after seemingly being dropped at one point in the second half of the season by the Swans.

Ward
(If it’s a back4)
Gunter Cabango Rodon Davies
Wilson Alen Morell Bale
James
........ Moore

Gunter ahead of Williams & Roberts?
Can't agree with that

As the Johnson has told Government staff to call UK 'one country' and avoid talk of 'four nations', isn't it time for FIFA to insist the UK plays as a single team?

I think FIFA are more likely to wonder what Boris Johnson has to do with how they run football?

The FAW, the 3rd oldest national football association in the world, are also likely to ignore him as another in a long line of PM's who will have little to no effect on football.

The strongest squad in the tournament by far are France. They have an unbelievable depth to their squad and an embarrassment of riches.

Belgium are my second favourites, very strong squad but have that mental block in the knockout stages where they tend to either bottle it or suffer some really bad luck.

Germany - can never be written off in any tournament. They always turn up.

Spain - Even though a strong team, they are nowhere near the team that won 2 European Championships and a World Cup in-between. Suffering from a lack of finishing lately, Morata is having a torrid time up front and Luis Enrique's refusal to start Moreno and name a very small squad shy on strikers could see an early exit for La Furia Roja.

Italy - dark horses

England - Bottlers

Again, maybe I am putting too much emphasis on it, but the format of the tournament doesn't help France, not to mention that group is an absolute nightmare, with Hungary probably getting at least a point against one of them.

When you have their quality, it probably doesn't matter, but they have to hit the ground running, as they play Germany in Munich in the opener, and then Hungary in Budapest, which they will be fired up for

If they come 2nd behind Germany (as is my prediction), then they play the winner of Englands group (probably England, in Wembley)

It's a bit like watching the Swans play really isn't it with all the negative play and absolute drought in terms of chances on goal. Need at least a point on Saturday, though two draws could suffice to finish third. A positive for us is that Italy will most probably be through before we face them, so they could rest a few.

The fact that three out of four go through from most groups should mean that all the favourites will make the knock-outs.
