Nah, he’s right. They were the better team but 4 nil was a shocker.

It wasn’t a 4-0 performance from Wales. No way whatsoever.

Agreed.

It was a 0-4 performance

:D Sorry A.

Actually people were right. In retrospect it did have some echoes of our play off final. “Crappy Welsh hoofers vs media footballing darlings and everyone’s favourite team” was the vibe. Then a referee determined to referee one side only and looking to give a red card. I suppose Wales were in the game for longer than the Swans. 15 minutes trumps 0 minutes.

It certainly did have the vibe of a referee trying to make a name for himself who also bought into the media love in that Denmark currently have.

Still it could have been worse, we could have lost 7-1 in a semi final like Brazil did against Germany in the world cup.

At the end I was left with the feeling that it was a premonition of the sort of game and scoreline that we might have had to watch maybe 20-25 times next season if we'd somehow won the playoff final.

Wales have had to travel more than any other side so far
Wales were in what in my opinion was the second toughest group
Wales were not allowed fans at Baku or Copenhagen
Wales had two dodgy refs who made a LOT of very questionable decisions
Wales had two incredibly soft red cards
Wales had a manager brought up on domestic abuse charges and a clueless assistant take charge

Not to make excuses but that is a lot of sh*t for any team to deal with, let alone one with the relatively low strength in depth of Wales.
By the end we did look tired and as soon as Denmark figured us out and changed their shape we never had a plan B

Likely to be the last major tournament for Bale and Ramsey. We need to figure out as a national side a way to create and score goals without them where our main attacking forces look like they will be James and Moore.

In my lifetime I have only seen Wales qualify twice,So to get out of the group was still an achievement ,some teams have never got out of a group although qualifying more often for tournaments so well done Wales. It could have been different yesterday as wales should have had a penalty on about the 15 min mark .Ramsey volley was blocked by a forearm .No one appealed though.

I think that is a very good and accurate observation.

The most disappointing thing for me was that one simple tactical change by Denmark on 15mins nullified our game plan completely.

So, firstly, where was our tactical nous to make a change to counter their change. I don't know what that needed to be but I'm not the Wales manager.

Secondly, every team we play from now on will do the same thing.

In hindsight perhaps we should have brought moore off and brought wilson and brooks on.

Page is clueless, how he and the Dutch bloke took the reins is the FAW mystery etc, Page is a League Two gaffer and the Dutch bloke coaches the worst Arsenal team probably ever

Netherlands vs Czech Republic
Portugal vs Belgium

I'm going for the obvious and left field option, Netherlands and Portugal to progress

Hope you're right, Skippy. I lived in Holland for three years and retain great affection for the Dutch.
I like Portugal as underdogs and would like to see the Belgium steamroller stopped in its tracks.

The Dutch are making a right old meal of it so far, Czechs are playing well, but quality should prevail
