• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

That must be one of the best Portuguese teams ever , on paper, Belgium didn't even play that well , Ian Wright is correct , its a myth that ronaldio is great at free kicks

You're right, and what p*sses me off is that they are so in awe of him, nobody says to him "Try something different to catch them out. When they're all expecting a blaster, chip it over the wall for somebody to run on to".

Have to say, Belgium without De Bryne looked very ordinary.
I thought Sanches was outstanding but tired towards the end. But he rarely stopped moving … made me realise how static our midfield has become.

It's a myth in that no-one who has done 5 minutes research (which obviously rules out Ian Wright) would think he is great at free kicks. His conversion rate for his career is 6%. The average conversion rate of free-kicks which are hit directly at goal in the Premier League is 9.2%.

I remember him scoring that wonder free-kick against Portsmouth for Man U, but don't remember any others. He's always been better at shooting from distance in open play. Portugal should certainly have better options in the team, but it seems like he calls the shots (pun intended).

Spain - Croatia is a belter.

Cracking game that was. Spain finding their mojo at just the right time? 2 dodgy draws to start with then 10 goals in 2 games.

France in a spot of bother.

When you think of how Italy mangled the Swiss…

I thought the Swiss looked good against us. France will have a battle now.
