Prosser’s been fiddling the vote again I see.

Nope, nothing guaranteed yet. About 90% certain I’d say.

Italy one up. Nope. VAR strikes again.

It's not guaranteed, but for us to not finish as one of the four best third-placed teams with four points is really unlikely. Four of the six at Euro 2016 had 3 points.

Switching the subject to reffing for a minute, I know the refs have been told to ignore players deliberately falling over, but in what universe was that body check on Dan James late on not a free kick and yellow card?
It was clear Dan was going to leave him for dead so the Turk completely ignored the ball, instead cutting across Dan and cynically barging him off his feet. Simulation? FFS......

Be very unlikely not to qualify in second place with four points.

What am I missing here? I’m hearing that if Italy win we’re through, like it’s a fact - how does that work then? If we and the Swiss lose to Italy and beat Turkey with the same score lines our records and head to heads would be identical. Are people assuming that we’re guaranteed best third place at the very least and regardless of the maths, or am I miscalculating?

The very worst hypothetical scenario now is being one of the worst 3rd place finishers, and being knocked out.

For that to happen it would need 4 other 3rd place teams across tournament to get 4 points, and a better goal difference.

It may be mathematically possible with some freak results, but i dont think the odds of it happening, make it even worth mentioning

No doubt we'll rest a few on Sunday, as will Italy, just don't wanna see us get mauled. Hopefully they'll play out a draw akin to West Germany/Austria many world cups ago.

See that the Italian players have been reading the Football Textbook.

Added to that, an Italy win tonight means we’ll probably end up playing a second string Italy on Sunday.

Not too convinced on that, Italy will want to avoid any possibility of finishing as runners up and having to play the runner up of Group B (likely to be Russia) as opposed to playing the runner up of group C (most likely Austria)

I'm feeling rather confident in my prediction of an Italian win, they look like the best team in the tournament, Wales only hope is to dig in and catch them on the break with pace, it's a tough proposition

This ‘best 3rd place’ thing is rubbish. Top 2 from each group should go through. Bog standard playoff tree.

I don’t like change. :D

I think Page will have a tough time selling that to the players, playing against Italy in Rome in a major tournament is something to relish

Italy have been the most impressive team I've seen so far in the Euros. Will be a big ask for anyone to stop them, then again they have yet to come up against any top tier opposition so it will be interesting to see how they do once they hit the knockout stages.

Spinazzola has been phenomenal so far, the only thing that lets him down is that he has no left foot.

I'm holding off on them until they start playing out of Rome, I think they are doing exactly what the minimum expectation is at the moment, which is beating lesser teams comfortably
