Italy have been the most impressive team I've seen so far in the Euros. Will be a big ask for anyone to stop them, then again they have yet to come up against any top tier opposition so it will be interesting to see how they do once they hit the knockout stages.

Spinazzola has been phenomenal so far, the only thing that lets him down is that he has no left foot.

I'm holding off on them until they start playing out of Rome, I think they are doing exactly what the minimum expectation is at the moment, which is beating lesser teams comfortably

Well they had run Turkey so ragged they were breathing out of their arseholes after only an hour played and could have scored 6 or 7. Chiellini limping off with a hammy can just as easily be either a blessing or a curse for Italy. He is one of the most experienced and consistent defenders in the business but he doesn't have the pace anymore.

Containing Immobile and Spinazzola will be key to stopping Italy from running rampant on Sunday.

Considering their positions and how much they both love bombing up and down the field I am actually quite looking forward to seeing Roberts vs Spinazzola. I think it will be a good duel

And yes Immobile (pronounced immo-bill-ay) has superb movement. I actually dread the thought of Mepham being the one in charge of marking him.

3-0 Italy. Switzerland would require a 5 goal swing in the final games to pip us to second place. Not impossible given how good Italy look and how poor Turkey are playing, but makes it more difficult for Switzerland.

Italy will be very tough. Best team I've seen so far at the euros. Played so well first game I put money on them to win

That couldn’t have gone much better today. Us taking another chance or two would have been the icing, but imagine being offered those two scores at 5pm.

If we want to, we can give Italy a game. If we go out to only lose by one or two we will probably be skelped. Turks beating or drawing with the Swiss would be sweet.

I didn't want to tempt fate up until now, but I've been looking at the next round. If we finish second, and I know it's a big if, we'll probably be playing one of Russia, Finland or Denmark. I'd say we have a sporting chance of beating any of those.
England seem very likely to win Group D, which means they'll more than likely play Portugal, France or Germany next. Oh dear.
Wouldn't it be great if little ol' Wales go further than the English again? How would the British media cope?

My guess is that Mancini will tell his guys not to leave too much on the pitch on Sunday. He won't want his team to be brilliant in the groups and fade in the knock outs. So I think he will be completely happy with 1-0 and shut it down. But ... Locatelli and Immobile are on 2 goals each, and the Golden Boot is won building on a good total in the groups, so they will want more - but ... if I am right about Mancini they won't anything more than 2nd gear from their mid-field. On the -ve side, I think Italy will be too much for Wales and unless Italy cock it up completely even a draw would be a fantastic result.

Italy have gone something like 29 games without losing and haven't conceded in their last 10, scoring 31 goals in the process. Yeah they'll likely be less motivated against us but they'll still want to win the group.
