Wales have had to travel more than any other side so far
Wales were in what in my opinion was the second toughest group
Wales were not allowed fans at Baku or Copenhagen
Wales had two dodgy refs who made a LOT of very questionable decisions
Wales had two incredibly soft red cards
Wales had a manager brought up on domestic abuse charges and a clueless assistant take charge

Not to make excuses but that is a lot of sh*t for any team to deal with, let alone one with the relatively low strength in depth of Wales.
By the end we did look tired and as soon as Denmark figured us out and changed their shape we never had a plan B

Likely to be the last major tournament for Bale and Ramsey. We need to figure out as a national side a way to create and score goals without them where our main attacking forces look like they will be James and Moore.

Wales also weren’t very good when it came to the crunch.

Abysmal performance … reminded me of our play off final. Manager picked his dog tired favourites, played a completely predictable formation and tactics, didn't make subs when they being cried out for, inept captaincy, obligatory red card.

Sad way to go out but still a great achievement for us to get this far, especially with the travel and that we haven’t been able to have any fans there while other teams have been putting their feet up at home. Hopefully this is the last we see of this terrible format.

No surprise we looked tired against a more technically competent team, our central midfield isn’t good enough and although Bale is still good he’s just not the same player he was five years ago.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. If we qualify for the WC, it's only 18 months away and I'm sure both Bale & Ramsey will still be playing at a decent level somewhere and will still be good enough to be in our squad - unless they choose to retire from International football of course, like people often do so they can extend their club careers.

I predicted a heavy defeat, albeit not quite that heavy. Sometimes, circumstances conspire such that it's more or less impossible to overcome them. Really unfair in terms of locations, no fans etc but hopefully we'll direct that angst to qualify for the WC, which really would be massive for us. Not Page's fault, he did his best and should be proud. We need better though, plenty would relish the chance to manage us us imo. Bale and Ramsey will want to play in the WC, if no qualification then they'll step down. All in all, well done boyos.

I think the worrying thing from an international perspective is that I don't see the next Welsh generation coming through who can compete on the world stage. A few years in the wilderness coming for us, I think....

Thought I recognised the assistant on the bench for Denmark. Wieghorst who was Laudrup's assistant I believe

Embarrassing way to go out

Bollocks. We’ve had had so much stacked against in the tournament and its culminated in the performance of that ref and his team.

I’m glad to see that Bale took the high ground in his post match interview.

Nah, he’s right. They were the better team but 4 nil was a shocker.

We qualified. Again. And got the the knockout stages. Again. For the first 45 years of my life we didn’t do the former let alone the latter. I’m happy.

It wasn’t a 4-0 performance from Wales. No way whatsoever.

Wales did well overall, I didn't think we would get a point or score a goal in the finals, everything was stacked against Wales, travelling, fixtures, lack of fans, ref decisions etc, all in all in my book the whole thing imo was a success for Wales .

Indeed. Having the opportunity to actually be properly invested in International competitions for the first time in my life is enough.

Still think we f*cked up by not appointing a proper manager, mind.

The problem lies with the wages MrS, we don't pay well enough to attract a manager with experience.

Manager situation was difficult.
FAW couldn't ditch Giggs without paying massive compensation (his trial doesn't start for another month).
So the choice was to stick with the assistants or try to get someone for a few games.
IMO it's a shame Osian Roberts left .. would have been better than Cooper style Page.
