Didn't get up til 8am looks like i've missed the start of England's build up to the big game. Or did it start last night?

That England team doesnt really look that good. In fact it looks shat. How are they so highly rated?

A spine of Pickford, Maguire and Rice doesn't fill me with confidence, I'll think any team will have a good chance against that.. Saka over Grealish and Mount is a bizzare one.. anyway up the Krauts

Is it just me or is it a starting 11 full of defenders? 5 actual defenders and 2 defensive midfielders, meaning all the creative and attacking burden is placed on just 3 players?

Saka looks good but is young and inexperienced, Kane has been shit so far and then there's Sterling, who I really like but who is as likely to do something shit as he is something amazing.

I'd be very surprised if we have another 3-3 here. Southgate is going to 1-0 them to the final isn't he?

This must be the English FA badgemen staple, Margetson having an influence.. it's almost like Cooperball strategy, soak it up and nick a goal, very negative

It's better than Cooperball. They aren't going long all the time and they are running with the ball. Two pretty ordinary teams though.

They are both counter attacking. Cooper never bothered. If we won the ball in space we would counter defend.

There have been some great games in this round of 16 but don't think this one will be added to the list. Unless both teams are transformed at half time like France were last night.

England will be desperate to avoid penalties- leave themselves open at the back and concede. Not sure that Müller behind Werner is really working. Gnabry second half for Werner.

I reckon Phillips is a lucky boy to only get a yellow for that challenge just before 'King Harry' messed up

I think England have looked the better side so far. Germany probably more likely to score but they are a typical Germany side, they can probably pick England off with relative ease in the second half if they decide to step it up, but so far they haven’t. Shearer has got a cheek highlighting Kane’s poor performance - he has no service and Shearer had a terrible run before Euro 96 so he should know what it’s like.

Ampadu got a red for a similar challenge.

Even worse, Jenas has greeted Grealish's arrival by saying 'he's made for moments like this' or some similar nonsense. This is a player who has 9 caps for England (no goals) and the 'biggest' previous game of his career was the Championship Playoff Final. Doesn't quite compare to a knockout Euros games against Germany does it?

Birmingham City 🏈 v Swansea City 🦢
