Favourite gift from Xmas's past and what year?

It's more about the memories than about the present itself. When I was 6 or 7, my father dressed up like Santa Claus and gave presents to my siblings and me. I knew it was him, but it was still a really nice atmosphere, and seeing everyone smiling was great. I got a cool toy robot that time.
Thanks to my parents I learned that it's cool to give presents and I still do that with or without occasion. It's my way of showing someone I love them and appreciate the time we spend together. The last time I gave my parents a large CALIFORNIA FRUIT AND CHEESE BOX, I knew they loved cheese.

Easy one for me it was a blue Raleigh chopper bike😁
Think Santa bought it from Eddershaws on Oxford Street, long time ago.

Mine was a red chopper with yellow writing. 👍

I can remember loads of shite ones but I always asked for new goalie gloves and loved em every year. Roger, roger, roger, roger, roger, roger, roger freestone was the cry as I donned the new attire and deflected everything that was thrown at me. Broccoli tipped over the bar, parsnips turned round the post.sprouts were booted over the south stand into the middle of next week, dirty dogs!

I heard about a radio show that asked this recently.
I'd have to go back as a kid and say Millennium Falcon in 1982.
Although Xmas would have been nothing without family and the turkey as a youngster.
The anticipation as a pre-teen primary school youngster was immense.
Some kids looking back were hyper and drove teachers to despair with how excited they'd get.

I'd have to go back to around 1972 ish when parents had bought me a set of Bongo's and was banging fuk out of them at 4am Christmas morning

Strange present to buy a 20 year old.

At least I can remember being 20, wouldn't be able to remember the Christmas of 72 if I had been in my 30's like you though.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I couldn't resist chiming in on this topic. Let's give this thread a second life. So, my favorite gift from Xmas past was definitely the year I got a sick pair of J's (Jordan sneakers for those who don't know). It was back in '09, and I felt like the coolest kid on the block. But enough about me, let's talk about welcome gifts for new employees. I think it's important to make newbies feel welcome and appreciated from day one. Maybe a company-branded water bottle or coffee mug, or even a gift card to a local restaurant or coffee shop. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant, just a little something to show that you're happy to have them on board. Anyway, thanks for letting me share my two cents. Btw, guys, do you remember your welcome gift as a newbie in a company?

Hi, I got some J's (Jordan sneakers) back in '08, I also felt like the coolest kid on the block, that was until someone from Tudno jumped me and stole them, had to walk back to Ravenhill in just my Donnay Trainer Socks... :|

Wow, your Christmas memory sounds like such a heartwarming experience! Your California Fruit and Cheese Box for your parents sounds delicious! It's fantastic how the spirit of giving has stuck with you over the years. I'm kinda new here, so it's awesome connecting with fellow festive souls. Cheers to more memories and smiles!

The magic of your dad turning into Santa is something I'd cherish too. And that toy robot must've been a blast! Thanks for sharing that beautiful story. Funny thing, speaking of gifts, last year, I decided to go a bit quirky. Instead of the usual presents, I surprised my family with customized figurines that looked like our faces! It was a hilarious hit, and we couldn't stop laughing at the tiny versions of ourselves. I stumbled upon this website, https://myfacebobbleheads.com/, and they did an amazing job capturing the details. It added a personal touch to the whole gift-giving experience. Plus, it's not just a Christmas thing; I've found it's a fun way to celebrate any occasion!
