• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

After today’s revelations concerning Casey going back, and Santos failing a medical, May I humbly suggest those wanting Filip Lissah to continue his football education away at Falkirk reconsider.
Anyone that thinks we are clear of a relegation scrap, just has to look at the league table, and realise we are just 2 losses away from Norwich.
What would your opinion be if gawd forbid, we end up in the trap door to league One, partly due to lack of cover in defence?
Great for Lissah, with his rave reviews and his own personal development, plus his agent will be wetting himself counting his next percentage cut, but meanwhile we are missing out on a raising star.
“If your good enough, your old enough”
Or we can make another loan signing for someone to be our 3rd choice CB.

What’s the point of an academy if your not going to utilise your best prospects?
In terms of the lads development he is much better staying where he is for the remainder of this season. The exposure to first team football is going to be far more beneficial to him and Swansea City for years to come, rather than minutes here and there if he were to be recalled.

Bringing him back from a very successful loan is a bit short sighted.

I honestly hope you’re right, and hope any new loanees are not Bensonesque.
But I’ll be be far more happy when we are further away from that trap door.

Norwich are 8 points behind us ,
See where we are next week after 2 home games ,

I’d usually agree with this.

The situation that we are now in and the performances he seems to have put in over the last few months means I would quite genuinely bring him back now for the first team squad.

With his ability across the back line and with Casey gone and Samuels Smith out injured I think he’d get a decent amount of game time.

If he's going to go straight in to the starting eleven and stay there then yes, I'd fully agree with you. I'd much prefer we develop our own players than those of other clubs.

In his case him being on the bench every game would be worth it I think. As he could come on at centre half, right back or even left back (from memory he’s played there as well).

I can see both sides though. If Matos has no intention of using him leave him there. I just don’t see why he wouldn’t to be honest given the options. Before Casey went back I’d have agreed with you.

Going forward I hope we see less signings like Joel Ward and any other loan player and more empathsis on developing our own players like Lissah and Tyrell Wilson.

Matos was very unlikely to pick Casey ahead of Cabango & Burgess for League games unless one was injured .
Playing Cup games gave him a chance or when he went to 3 central defenders .

Lissah playing week in week out helps him and us in the long term .

Sense at last 👍

As I said earlier, what’s the point of an academy then ?

A healthy Championship club should be integrating 1 or 2 academy players every season, not every one will become a game in game out starter but if you never give them time on the pitch then as whaleoilbeefhooked said there is no point in having an academy in the first place.

Unless he’s going to play every game through to the end of the season, leave him where he is.
