In terms of attendence I was hardly going to games with the previous American owners, to the point I did not want to put a penny into they're pockets as well as feeling priced out of the game. Over the last couple of years my son started getting into football through playing FIFA with his friends and started supporting Liverpool, I always watched Swans games on TV and he didnt pay any interest. I decided back in Febuary after trying to get tickets to for him to watch Liverpool, it would be alot cheaper to get 2 season tickets for the Swans this season and we caught a couple of games at the back end of last season....

Fast foward to now he just turned 14 and we went to Middleborough, all the home games and we are going to Birmingham tomorrow and already bought our Southampton tickets, he was bouncing after the Forest game and said it was the best game of his life :)

That first paragraph was a bit scary, thought you had infiltrated my life for a second! I was a season ticket holder with my father and he decided to not renew after the initial takeover. I was already on the fence, so his decision sealed it and I also didn't renew. I also stayed away from games after that because of the ownership. My son is the same with football and FIFA/FC with his friends played a big part in that. He also supports Liverpool and I realised how hard it is to get tickets (we did go up earlier this year to watch a Liverpool vs Chelsea legends match, so he has been to the stadium at least), so started bringing him to Swans matches. He was hooked enough last season (especially after Sheehan took over) to justify season tickets this year.

My son is 12 though, so at least I know there's not some kind of weird doppelganger sci-fi thing going on here...

Glad your son loved Wednesday night and here's to many more like it.

I think FIFA/FC has alot to answer for, my son is playing the new FC26 today lol, we did the stadium tour on his 12th birthday and then got tickets to the legends match last year the one Sven-Göran Eriksson was manager for just before he passed away.

I think going to actual games does change they're perspective after years watching games on TV and then being at the stadium is a completely different experience, which is becoming addictive and expensive when adding away games into the mix lol

My experiences on Wednesday were mixed to say the least. In the afternoon, I was removing some skirting boards with a pry bar when it slipped and the very sharp handle end which is a claw for extracting nails, gashed into my thigh and before the pain had subsided enough to even look at it I was picturing lots of blood and trying to drive to A&E for stitches but luckily it wasn’t as bad as that so I cleaned the wound up and put a dressing on it. In the evening, I settled down on the edge of the bed to watch the match with a couple of cans of cider and all was well. When Vip scored that equaliser, I jumped up but was immediately hit by the agony of my thigh wound so quickly sat back down and just cheered my head off like a big kid. However, when Burgess hit the winner, I was up on my feet and bouncing around the bedroom and although I was in absolute agony, I simply couldn’t do anything about it and was jumping around yelling “ow, ow, ow, ow” and clutching my thigh with one hand and punching the air with the other! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: At 73, I thought those days were long gone but it never leaves you :love::love:

On the other subject of match attendance, I have said on here several times in the past that the football of the last few seasons was no longer the main attraction for me and what kept me turning up was to have a drink and spend some time with my (Uplands based) brother and nephew on a regular basis. After the pandemic, I gradually gave up on midweek games as getting home just after midnight after a 200+ mile round trip was becoming increasingly difficult but when my wife passed away in April last year, it sucked all the joy out of absolutely everything I did and still does to a great extent but I'm delighted to say that the football we played during last season's run in and have taken up another level so far this season, has made me look forward to every match I go to now or watch on TV. I had all but given up any hope of that ever returning but It's great to have that excitement and enjoyment back in my life. 🤩🤩🤩
