Strangely I was going to post almost the very same thing. We were talking about this where we are too. If anyone gets an opportunity to watch the whole game back you’ll see that Ashby was looking for Manning all the time and even followed him across to the other side of the pitch. I’m not saying he’s what we need at all but I’m certain he was playing to orders.

His body language doesn’t help either. Has that entitled ‘I’m a Prem League player, don’t you know’ demeanour.
And looks like he can’t be arsed to lower himself to busting a gut.

He had that same lackadaisical swagger pushing his trolley in Sainsbury’s recently. In his designer sliders.

This is a really good point and the same can be levelled at times towards Patino as well.

In years gone by McEachran was the same. Tammy Abraham. Renato Sanches. Rhys Williams. I could probably name half a dozen more.

This is why I can't stand our over reliance on the loan market. Players often come here with the wrong attitude - unless it's all sunshine very early on they lose interest and start eyeing the exit door. Or their club wants them back, on demand.

We need to be making far more Josh Key-type signings. Make players commit, put down roots, invest themselves fully in the club. Even if that means we get a slightly lesser standard of player initially, let's invest in potential more. We used to be good at this. Very good in fact. It can be done again, it just requires a mindset change from the likes of Watson.
