Has Sheehan Got What It Takes?

Slot wouldn't get a tune out of this lot, they couldn't make a simple 5 yrd pass all day like i said a few week back we need some investment and it's going to take 5 windows and getting in two top quality players every window if we are really serious of getting back to the top flight. If Burnley do go up they'll be straight back down and yet our team couldn't lay a glove on them today.

Never expected to get much from Burnley and Leeds but today the performance was shocking. 1 simple header from Cullen was all their goalkeeper had to do all afternoon. There's a way to lose, and what we saw today certainly wasn't it.
Comes back to the word performance.

If we'd lost that game today by having a high go and falling short because they are a much better side then fair enough.

To put the performance in we actually did is pathetic.

Burnley absolutely didn't need us to gift them 2 goals today, but once we did, they barely broke a sweat for the rest of the game. The gap in quality on that field was stark. We could have pulled one back and I'm confident they would have stepped it up and scored a third with no problem. Not exonerating Sheehan, but the gulf in class between those two sets of players was vast.

True, but those options are of poor quality also. I've lost any faith that we have the minerals to compete even against the likes of Plymouth, Derby and Oxford in a relegation dog fight. Hope I'm wrong.
I'm in the same camp as you. 👍🏼

This is not going to happen. People need to forget 'the promised land' bollocks. We had our day, it was fun, it's done.

What you are doing is what Cardiff do every year...buy some players and make it better. If we could do that we wouldn't be here. It's going to take a miracle to still be in the championship in two or three years, and we aint going upwards.

We need to consolidate as a top half Championship side before any thoughts of a prem return. Personally I have no interest in promotion seeing now what happens to the promoted sides and their quick return. Soton mates actually hate this season more than ever.

Unfair to judge Sheehan with this squad he's got at his disposal, Pep or Klopp would struggle.

Bit silly that I suppose because their experience would give them a better idea on how to set the team up tactically. but still, Sheehan is fighting against the odds.

There's no doubt that we can be a top 10 side in this division with the right structure and investment and that's maybe the best thing we can be, there's far to much money in the Premiership for us to be able to compete in it, look at Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton who came up last season for an example Ipswich and Leicester are 7pts away from safety and Saints 15.

The Blackburn and Middlesbrough performances were very good, Preston was decent, Watford and today disappointing.

I will maintain that he deserved more respect than he was getting in some quarters for the immediate turnaround we saw from the fiasco that 2025 had been up to that point, but he's let himself down a bit the last couple of games. Today we might as well have been managed by Luke Williams for all the sense that his substitutions made.

Hang on folks were judging Williams on this squad

Calling for his head.
Today's performance was the worst I have seen all season.
We have not been able to pass to each other for several games.

so Williams wasn't fighting against the odds as Sheehan seems to be now.

After Grimes left Williams changed our set up dropped Key who was culpable for today's goals....got some bad luck as Darling passed to a Sheffield Wed player gifting them a goal and we did similar at Stoke.

We were scrappy today and what were those substitutions.....As at Watford we are losing and he bringsnon Fulton..

Cardiff beat Blackburn away today so.maybe that puts our win against them under Sheehan into perspective
